期待が膨らむAメロ。これサビ？と思う程気持ち良いBメロ。そして、物足りないぐらい短いけれども期待を裏切らない、爽快なサビに連れていかれます。さらに裏で遊ぶバックボーカルが心地よいCメロまで用意されているのが贅沢です。この曲に関しては、歌謡曲と呼びたくなるほど、由緒正しいJ-popです。CMで使われるのもうなずけます。
The verse sounds promising. The bridge feels so good that it may make you think, “Is this the chorus?”. Then you’ll be carried away with the chorus, which is quite refreshing and perfectly lives up to your expectations, even though it’s too short. On top of that, this song even has another bridge with a back vocal that surely makes you feel good. As far as this song goes, I can call it a typical J-pop song. It deserves to be an ad jingle.
しかし、そんな印象は9月14日にリリースされたアルバム「Titles」を聴くとまた変わると思います。1曲目の「Like」に８０年代のブリットポップを感じるのは自分だけでしょうか。わずか5曲のミニアルバムとはいえ、多様性とともに、このバンドのポテンシャルが十分に伝わる秀逸な仕上がりです。オフィシャルサイトの紹介文にある「グルーヴとジャンルレスな感覚で自由に遊ぶネクストエージ」という言葉が腑に落ちます。収録曲の１つ「Sailing day」は、ブルボン「アルフォート ミニチョコレート」CMソングに決定しているとのこと。バンド名のチルズポットは“chill, child, spot, pot”の4語を組み合わせた造語だそうです。音楽のよさを忘れている人たちに、自信をもってお勧めできるバンドです。
However, you’ll have different impressions of this band once you listen to their latest album called ‘Titles’, released on September 14th. As for the first track, I wonder if I am the only person who has a feeling that it has a vibe of a British pop music in the 80’s. Even though it is a mini album with only 5 songs, it is so excellent that you can tell their variety and potential. The words you can see in their official website, “ their songs are addictive and steal the hearts instantly of those who hear it”, are quite convincing. The 4th track called ‘Sailing day’ is going to be used as an ad jingle for a snack called ‘Alfort mini chocolate’ by Bourbon, a snack company in Japan. The Band’s name chilldspot is a word coined combining 4 words, chill, child, spot, pot. I highly recommend this band to someone who has forgotten how good music is.
