気がつくと、この3か月で12台のプラモデルを作ってしまっています。ほぼ週一ペースでつくっていることに、自分でもどうかしていると感じます。いったんハマると抜けられない性分の模様。
I find myself having built twelve model cars in these three months. That means I’m building a model car on a weekly basis, and I know it’s too much. I’m the kind of person who can’t get enough of things that I really like.
初めて作った１台は、青島文化教材社の1/32ザ スナップキットシリーズ、トヨタ2000GTであることは以前書きました。何でもいいからとにかく作りたくって、仕事帰りにショッピングモールのおもちゃ屋でとりあえず買ったものでした。その後は、自分が作りたいものをじっくり考え、ネットやプラモデル屋さんで探して購入していきました。
The first model car I built was, as I mentioned before, the TOYOTA 2000 GT, one of the 1/32 snapkit model car series produced by Aoshima Bunka Kyozaisha. I really wanted to build a model car whatever it was at that time, so I casually bought it at a toy shop in a mall on my way home. After that, I deliberately chose the models that I really wanted to build on the Internet or at a hobby store.
2台目以降の3台は、ベントレー、MGB、アルピーヌと1/24スケールのものでした。1/32よりも部品数が多くなり、より精巧な仕上がりを楽しめます。実際は、失敗の連続で、なかなか思ったように仕上がりませんが、反省を生かしつつ塗料や工具を買い足していきました。
The three models I built after the TOYOTA 2000 GT were 1/24 scale ones such as a Bentley, MGB, and Alpine. 1/24 scale models have more parts than 1/32 ones so you can build them more elaborately. As a matter of fact, I made a lot of mistakes while I was building them so I couldn’t build them beautifully enough, and I bought some more paints and tools so as not to repeat the same mistakes.
それから、1/32スケールの興味深いシリーズに出会いました。アリイというメーカーの1/32オーナーズクラブというものです。青島のスナップキットと違い、接着剤が必要で、部品も未塗装です。
Then I was interested in an another series of 1/32 model cars. That was the series called 1/32 Owners’ club produced by Alii. They require adhesive and the parts are uncolored unlike the ones by Aoshima.
このシリーズのラインアップを見ると、興味深い車ばかりでワクワクします。値段も700円前後で手ごろで、つい大人買いしてしまいます。手始めに作ったのは、スズキフロンテ、年式は違いますが、子供の頃父が乗っていた車です。

There are a lot of interesting cars in this selection. The price is about 700 yen and it is so reasonable that I buy a lot at a time. The first one was SUZUKI Fronte, the reason I chose it was my father used to own it, a different model year of it though.
