草彅剛さんが主演のドラマで、面白くなかったものが思い浮かびません。初めての主演作品は「いい人」だったと思うのですが、内容は忘れているものの、面白かったのは覚えています。それ以来、草彅剛さんが出るドラマはいつも楽しみにしていました。
I cannot come up with a dull drama among the ones starring Tsuyoshi Kusanagi. The one he played the main character for the first time was probably 'Iihito (A Softie)' , and I remember it was quite enjoyable, I almost forgot what the story was like but I have always been looking forward to his drama since then.
そんな草彅剛さん主演の新ドラマ、「罠の戦争」が始まりました。民放の連ドラでは６年ぶり、しかも、月曜日の夜十時、あの懐かしい「スマスマ」があっていた時間帯です。感慨深くて、どうしても期待値は高まります。
His new drama called 'Wana no Senso (War of Traps)' has started. It is the first time in six years for us to watch a drama starring him in a key commercial TV station, apart from the fact that it is the slot where that good old variety show called 'Smap Smap' was aired before (he appeared on it, too). I was already reminded of that history so I couldn't help but have high expectations for this drama.
第１話は、その期待に十分応えるものでした。まず感じたのは脚本のよさです。この先展開される復讐劇に、しっかりとした理由を与え、視聴者の共感を十分に高める内容でした。
The first episode perfectly lived up to my expectations. First of all, the story is good. This will be a sweet revenge drama with a good reason for vengeance that successfully makes the audience feel empathy towards the protagonist.
あらためて実感したのは、草彅剛さんの俳優としての不思議な魅力です。誤解を恐れずに言えば、演技力という点ではむしろ不器用な方なのではないでしょうか。でも、その不器用さこそがリアリティーを生み出し、与えられた役になりふり構わず、渾身で成りきっていく姿に、感情移入させられるのだと思います。
This time I realized again how mysterious Kusanagi's attractiveness is as an actor. No offense, but he is rather clumsy in acting. However, the clumsiness produces the reality somehow, and the way he perfectly throw himself into the role makes you easily empathize with the character.
それにしても思うのは、SMAPというグループの解散に関する後味の悪さです。草彅剛さんが民放のドラマに戻るのに、これだけの時間がかかってしまったのも、視聴者にはわからない様々な事情があったのでしょう。でも、このドラマが元メンバーたちの活躍への、一つの突破口になることを勝手に期待しています。
When it comes to the way SMAP broke up, I still have bitter feelings towards it even now. There must have been various reasons, which the audience doesn't know, why it took Kusanagi so long to appear again in a drama by a commercial TV station. However, I have an anticipation that this drama could be a breakthrough for the ex-members of SMAP to play active rolls in show business again.
