コンパクトで速く、コスパのいい、そしてMTの車。それが今回の車選びの条件でした。10年間乗ったスイフトスポーツは、まさにその条件を満たす車です。でも、買い替えるとなると更に満足度の高いものをと思い、この2か月ほどで、興味のある車に試乗してきました。そして、最終的にはスバルのBRZと、アウディのS1との２つに選択肢を絞り込みました。ここであらためて、BRZとS1の仕様を比べてみます。
I decided several terms to fulfill in choosing the next car of mine, and they were being compact, fast, good value for the money, and with 6MT. The Swift Sport I have owned for ten years was the very one that fulfills those terms. However, once I decided to buy a new car, it should be a car that makes me more satisfied than the Swift Sport did, so I have test-driven some cars I was interested in for a couple of months. Then I have finally narrowed down my choices to two cars, SUBARU BRZ and AUDI S1. Now, let me compare the specs of them.
車高の低さ、車重の軽さはBRZが有利です。馬力もBRZがわずかに勝っていますが、トルクはS1がはるかに上回っています。エンジンについては優劣つけ難いものがあります。駆動方式は、４WDの安定感に惹かれます。対照的と言っていいほど大きく異なっている外回りのデザインは、それぞれの魅力があり、迷います。内回りや装備については、新車のBRZが有利に決まっています。しかし、液晶メーターは好みではないこと、狭すぎて使えない後部座席、高すぎる割に機能的とは思えないナビの設定など、BRZにも不利な点はいくつかあります。
You can see BRZ has advantages in the height and the weight. BRZ also exceeds in the horsepower just a little, but S1 has a far higher torque than BRZ. As for the engines, I cannot decide which is better. When it comes to drive systems, I like 4WD better due to the stability it creates. They have totally different, almost contrary exteriors and each has its own attractiveness so I’m wavering. BRZ, which is a new one, has great advantages in the interior and equipment definitely. Even so, I don’t like the liquid-crystal display, the useless rear seat in the narrow space, and the choices of navigation systems which don’t look functional enough, so I have a feeling that BRZ also has some disadvantages in those points.
コンパクトで速いという点では、甲乙つけ難いと言えるBRZとS1です。では、コスパの点ではどうでしょうか。新車BRZはベースグレードのRでも、乗り出しは380万円を超えてしまいます。上級グレードのSでは400万円超えは確実です。Ｓ１については、乗り出しで325万円という見積もりをいただきました。年式が2014年ということを考えると、単純に安いとは言えません。ただ、ネットで相場を見ると、リーズナブルであることは確かです。コスパでも大きな差異は見いだせません。
Both BRZ and S1 are definitely compact, fast ones. What about the value for the money? As for BRZ, even grade R, the basic one, costs over 3,800,000 yen. The upper one grade S definitely costs over 4,000,000 yen. I got an estimate of charges including all the taxes and costs for the S1 and it was 3,250,000 yen. The S1 was made in 2014 so I can’t say it is low-priced. However, I checked the market prices of S1 and now I can say the price is surely reasonable. That’s why it is also difficult to decide which car is more value for the money.
結論として、自分が選んだのはアウディＳ１です。決めてはいくつかあります。まずは、トルクの大きさです。街乗りでも、峠やワインディングでも運転の楽しさはここにかかっているように思います。次に４ＷＤの安定性です。ぬれた路面や雪の日など、ロードコンディションが悪い時にも比較的安心です。決定的なのは、購入先のお店です。今回、Ｓ１を紹介してくださった、クエストオートモーティブは、店頭に並んでいる車を見ただけで、きめの細かいメンテナンス、そして好みのカスタムをしてもらえることが伝わります。中古のしかも輸入車を購入する際のリスクはまさにメンテナンスにあると思います。このお店なら安心して任せられます。
In conclusion, I chose Audi S1. There are some reasons. First, S1 has a higher torque. It makes driving hilly and windy roads enjoyable so much, I suppose. Second, the stability of S1 with 4WD system. It makes secure driving roads in bad condition due to rain or snow. Third, the reason crucial was the garage service. I got an impression that the shop called Quest Automotive will give good service such as painstaking maintenance and even desirable customizing. It solves the problems you could get when you buy an imported used car, and how to maintain it would be the biggest problem, I suppose. I believe I can rely on this shop in that point.
正直、思いもよらない車選びになりました。でも、ここに至るまでの経緯を楽しめて満足しています。納車を楽しみに待つ日々です。
To be honest, I eventually chose a car which was totally unpredictable for me. However, I enjoyed all the cars I test-drove and I’m perfectly satisfied with the decision I made. I can’t wait to get the S1.
