最初に言っておくと、今回試乗はできませんでした。前回、中古のミニクーパーSに試乗して、中古の輸入車にも選択肢を広げた自分です。まず目を付けたのは、ルノーのメガーヌGT220。もちろん６MTの先代モデルです。ネットで調べると、なんと隣町で売られている一台が見つかりました。さっそく電話してみると、もう買い手がついたとのこと。それでも、見せていただけないかとお願いすると、快く応じてくださいました。
To tell the truth, I couldn’t test-drive this time. After test-driving a secondhand MINI COOPER S, I added used foreign cars to my choices. The first one I was interested in was Renault MEGANE GT220, the previous model with 6MT, of course. I checked them on the Internet and found a one being sold, to my surprise, in the neighbor city. I soon called the shop and the manager told me that the car was already sold. Even so I asked him to show me it and, thankfully, he readily agreed.
向かったのは、諫早市にあるクエストオートモーティブというお店です。到着すると、魅力的な輸入車が所せましと並んでいます。新車・中古車の販売だけでなく、カスタムカーのプロデュースまで行っているとのこと。見せていただいたメガーヌGT220は、鮮やかなブルーで、新車のような輝きを放っていました。この車の仕様は次の通りです。
I went to the shop called QUEST AUTOMOTIVE located in Isahaya city. I arrived there and immediately found a lot of cars on the site. I heard they sell not only cars, both new and used ones, but also customized ones. The MEGANE GT220 they showed me was blue and shined as if it was brand new.

ルノースポールの下位グレードとはいえ、GTの馬力とトルクはミニクーパーSを上回っています。見た目は地味ですが、そのスペックは実に心惹かれるものがあります。見せていただいた車両は、内装もきれいで走行距離も少なく、本体価格は160万円台でした。絶対にお買い得です。コンパクトというには少し大きくはあるものの、十分に速く、コスパもよいとなれば、自分にとって理想に近い一台です。もう少し早く気づいていればと悔やみましたが、もう後の祭りです。
Renault GT, which is the lower grade of Renault Sport, has more horsepower and torque than MINI COOPER S. The appearance is rather subdued but the spec is attractive enough. The car I took a look at has a nice interior with low mileage, but its price was about only 1,600,000 yen. It was absolutely value for the money. it is a little bit too big to call a compact car, in my opinion, but fast enough and very reasonable, so it was close to my ideal. I wish I had found it earlier, but it’s too late.

がっかりしている自分をなぐさめるように、店長さんは他の輸入車をいくつも見せてくだいました。ミニのJCW、しかも６MT車が3台もありました。どれもよく整備されていて、購買意欲が掻き立てられます。でも、最も心惹かれた1台は、ミニではありませんでした。その車とは、アウディS１です。
The manager showed me other imported cars they had as if he had tried to comfort me. I saw 3 MINI JCWs with 6MT. Every one of them were well kept, so I even I felt like buying it. However, the car I was most interested in was not one of them. the one was Audi S1.
その真っ赤なアウディは、スイスポと同じくらいコンパクトなボディに２Ｌのターボを搭載しています。しかもクアトロ、つまり四駆の６ＭＴです。自分にとってまさに理想形です。続きは次回で。
The Audi, vividly red, was as compact as Swift Sport and had 2L turbo charged engine. Plus, it has quattro system, which means 4WD, with 6MT. It was exactly my ideal one. To be continued.
