2台目の試乗車は、昨年9月にフルモデルチェンジしたホンダのシビックです。グレードは上級のEXでした。仕様は次の通りです。
The second demo car I gave a try was HONDA CIVIC, completely redesigned last September. The demo I test-drove was grade EX, the upper one. The specification of it is as follows.

外観は、形状も大きさもハッチバックとは呼ばせないものがあります。全長はスイフトスポーツより66㎝、BRZと比べても28.5㎝長いです。乗り込んでまず感じるのは、内装の質感の高さです。シートやインパネ、全ての佇まいが上質に思えます。特に印象的なのは、エアコンの吹き出し口を覆い隠している、ダッシュボードのメッシュです。新しいような、懐かしいようなそのデザインは、とてもユニークでありながら好ましく、さらに上質感を高めています。VTECにターボの組み合わせは、1.5Lという排気量を補って余りありほどの力強さです。シフトフィールはスイフトスポーツとはずいぶん違っていて、慣れるのに少し時間がかかりました。
The exterior made me hesitate to call it a hatchback compact car due to the shape and the size of it. The overall length is 66 cm longer than Swift Sport, 28.5 cm longer than BRZ. The first impression of the interior I got when I climbed into the driver’s seat was that everything looked expensive. The seats, the instrument panel, and so on are high quality. There was one thing I felt most impressive and it was the meshed grill on the dashboard, which covered the air conditioner vents. The design of the dashboard, which looked not only new but also old somehow, was favorably unique and even quite luxurious. The combination of VTEC and turbo is powerful enough to support the 1.5L engine. The feeling of shift changing was quite different from that of Swift Sport, so it took me a while to get used to it.
価格はEXグレードの6MTが353万9千８百円、LXグレードの6MTが319万円となっています。価格差は装備の違いで動力性能は同じです。価格設定はBRZよりも少しだけ高くなっていますが、それほど大きな差とは言えません。甲乙つけがたいです。この点ではスイフトスポーツが群を抜いて有利です。
The price of grade EX with 6MT is 3,539,800 yen, and grade LX with 6MT is 3,190,000 yen. The difference of the price comes from the equipment, and the performance is the same. The pricing of CIVIC is a little bit more expensive than that of BRZ, but the difference is not so big. It is difficult to say which is better. Swift Sport has a huge advantage in that point.
