前回のGR86を試乗した後、次は何にするか迷いました。もちろん、日本車でもMT車の選択肢はまだまだあります。でも、価格やデザインの好みなどから、これ以上、試乗してみたい車は思いつきませんでした。そこで目を向けたのが輸入車です。昔乗っていたローバーのミニクーパーはとても楽しい車でした。俄然、ワクワクしてミニのディーラーに電話したところ、MTの設定はすでにないとのこと。それでも、試してみたくて行きました。試乗したのは、2020年式のミニクーパーSで、７速DCTの３ドア。その仕様は次の通りです。
I couldn’t decide what car I should try next time after I had test-driven GR86 that I mentioned last time. I know there are some more MT choices among Japanese cars. However, I couldn’t come up with any cars to try out. Then I thought of imported cars. I immediately felt excited and made a phone call to the MINI dealer but the saleswoman who answered told me that they have no MT choices now. Even so I went there to test-drive. 内装の魅力は他車を寄せ付けません。メーター回り、ナビやスイッチ類全てにおいて、この車独自のスタイルが貫かれています。MTには及ばないものの、ツインクラッチのトランスミッションは、運転する喜びを十分に味わわせてくれます。2000ccターボのエンジンは、普段使いには十分過ぎるほどです。試乗後にディーラーの方とお話しする中で、代車として使用していた車の購入を提案されました。実車を見せてもらうと、とてもきれいで正直、心を揺さぶられました。
The interior of it is overwhelmingly attractive compared to that of other cars. It has its own style, and I could see it everywhere, around the instrument panels, the navigation monitor, and the switches. The feeling of the twin clutch transmission is fun enough, less than MT though, so you can fully enjoy driving. The twin turbo 2000cc engine is strong enough for ordinary driving. The saleswoman made me a proposal that they were able to sell a loaner car. She showed me the car, which was very beautiful, and to be honest, I found it highly desirable.
ミニの試乗を通じて、一気に選択肢が広がりました。輸入車ならば、好みの中古車が多くあることに気付いたのです。しかし、中古の輸入車にはメンテナンスが難しいというリスクがあります。それをいかにクリアするかが問題です。それはともかくとして、ひとまず中古車販売のサイトを見てみました。手ごろな値段のものを探していると、６MTで、デザイン、仕様ともに気になる車がありました。ルノーのメガーヌGTです。数十台あるその車の中で、最も惹かれた一台は、なんと長崎市のおとなり、諫早市にある店舗のものでした。続きは次回で。
Test-driving MINI gave me more choices. I noticed that there were a lot of imported cars of my type. However, I know there are risks in maintaining imported cars. I was looking for ones at reasonable prices, and there was a model of a car with 6MT that was quite attractive in both its design and specification. It was Renault GT.
