It will soon have been a year since I bought my 2014 Audi S1. I know so make people tend to think that it is risky to buy used imported cars in Japan. Hopefully this article could be a help for those.
まず言いたいことは、本当に買ってよかった、ということです。車自体の性能や動力、飽きのこないデザイン、維持費、全てにおいて満足しています。しかし、その満足感は、購入したお店、クエストオートモーティブの対応のよさから来ているのは間違いありません。

First of all, I really made a right decision about buying this car. I'm more than satisfied with everything about it like its performance, power, design that I'm still not tired of, and the cost to maintain it. I'm sure that I owe all those things to QUEST AUTOMOTIVE, the shop I bought the S1 from.
輸入車は思いもよらぬ故障をするというのは事実だと思います。日本とは気候が違う場所で設計、製造されているのですから、それも当然です。自分のS1 も、買って間もない頃にトラブルがありました。
It is true that imported cars tend to break down in unexpected ways. That's because they were produced in places where the climate is totally different from that of Japan. My S1 also had a trouble soon after I bought it.
数日雨が降り続いたあとのことです。エンジンをかけるとすぐに警告音が鳴り、メーターの液晶部に何かの表示が出ました。それはヘッドライトが故障していることを知らせるものでした。
It happened on a day after a couple rainy days. The car beeped when I started the engine and the indicator showed a sign. It told me that there was something wrong with the headlights.
すぐにお店に連絡し、みてもらったところ、雨水がライトの中に流れ込んでいるとのこと。自宅の駐車場にかなり傾斜があることが関係していたようです。車輌構造自体の問題にもかかわらず、初期不良として無料で修理してくださいました。
I called the shop right away to have the car checked and they soon found that some water had gotten in headlights. It seemed that my sloping parking lot has something to do with the trouble. It was also the problem of the car structure, but they fixed it for free because they felt sorry for me to have such a trouble just after buying it.
この時に交換した部品だけで、本来は十万円近くするようです。この時点でそれだけの出費があれば、買ったことを後悔していたでしょう。信頼できるお店に出会えた幸運を実感した出来事でした。
I heard that only the parts they changed at the time cost about 100, 000 yen. I would have regretted buying the S1 if I had to pay the money. I realized how I was lucky because I bought it from the reliable shop.
その後は、何もトラブルはありません。毎日、通勤で往復30km、安心して乗れています。続きは次回で。
I have had no trouble about the S1ever since then. I drive to and from work in it about 30km every day with no problem.
