　つかみどころの無さが魅力です。無数に並んだ引き出しを開くたびに、新しい世界で魅せてくれるのが吉澤嘉代子さんだと思います。11月25日にリリースされた彼女の新曲「サービスエリア」もまた意外性に満ちた、期待を超えてくる良曲です。

　The elusiveness of her songs makes them attractive even more. Whenever Yoshizawa Kayoko shows us her unknown aspects, I'm fascinated by the new world. Her new song called "Service Area" , also shows an unexpected side of her and definitely better than I thought it would be.

赤と青に光る幾千もの雨粒が窓をなぞってゆく

行先を告ぐ様に水銀灯は等しく浮かんでは消えて

霧を纏う車は光沢を包み隠して誰も乗せてない

暗闇が横切ると冷たい空気が肺をとおり抜けた

　Thousands of raindrops glistening red and blue roll down the window

　Mercury lamps appear and disappear at regular intervals as if they are telling the destination

　妖しい光と闇を感じる歌詞は、サービスエリアという、日常の中に確かに存在する場所を、輪郭すら捉えがたい異世界のもののように見せてきます。一聴してすぐに惹かれるメロディーも、同様になぜか捉えがたく、形として耳に残るまで何度も聴きなおしました。聴けば聴くほどよさが伝わります。

　The lyrics which is full of magic glow and darkness show us a service area, a place without any particular characteristics which certainly exists in our life, as something mysterious with an ambiguous shape from a different world. I was attracted by the melodies with just a listen but they are also so ambiguous that it took me some time to understand what they are like. The more you listen to it, the more you realize how good it is.

　初回限定版のCDには、DVDの特典映像が付属しており、君島大空さんのギターを伴奏に次の4曲のライブ演奏が楽しめます。

　エビ中ファンとして嬉しいのは、吉澤嘉代子さんがグループに提供してくださった「曇天」が、カップリングとしてセルフカバーされていることです。「曇天」は、自分にとっても、エビ中を好きになるきっかけとなった特別な曲です。

　There’s one thing that I was pleased with as a fan of Ebichu, and it the fact that the song called ‘Donten’, which Yoshizawa wrote for Ebichu, is also contained in the CD. The song is something special for me because it is the very song that makes me interested in Ebichu.

　さらに嬉しい事には、この「サービスエリア」のリリースを記念した特別番組がYouTubeで配信されています。こちらには、吉澤嘉代子さんとともにエビ中メンバーの2人、真山りかさんと小林歌穂さんが出演されていて、1時間以上にわたるトークが楽しめます。これまでに提供した楽曲、「面皰」や「日記」、そして去年開催されたエビ中主宰のフェスも話題に出てきます。こちらは明後日12月3日まで視聴できます。まだの方はぜひ！

　There’s another thing that makes me pleased even more and it is a special program on YouTube commemorating the release of this CD. In the program, Yoshizawa Kayoko appears with two members of Ebichu, Myama Rika and Kobayashi Kaho, and they talk for more than an hour. They mentioned other two songs sung by Ebichu, ‘Nikibi’ and ‘Nikki’, which is also written by Yoshizawa, and the music festival which Ebichu held last year. You can watch this program on YouTube until the day after tomorrow, December 3^rd. I recommend you to watch it, if you haven’t.
