これはW主演と言っていいです。そして、あくまで私見ですが、６：４で草彅剛さんよりも、ヒロイン役、服部樹咲さんの印象が強く残ります。草彅剛さんがトランスジェンダーを演じていることで話題の映画、「ミッドナイトスワン」を鑑賞しました。観る前は、正直テーマが重すぎて受け止めきれないのでは、と危惧していましたが、全くの杞憂でした。これは、逆境にある一人の少女の、紆余曲折を経てのサクセスストーリーとして楽しめる映画です。小難しさなど一切ありません。同時に、現代社会における人々の生きづらさを浮き彫りにしており、メッセージ性も内包しています。優れた娯楽作品であると同時に、素晴らしい芸術作品であるこの映画は、国際的な映画祭で賞をとるにふさわしい一作です。
以下、紹介してよい設定だけを述べてみます。
This movie features two main actors. I have an impression that Hattori Misaki, the heroine, is a little more impressive in her role than Kusanagi Tsuyoshi in the ratio of 6 to 4. I went to a movie called ‘Midnight Swan’, which many people are talking about. Before I saw it, I was concerned that I wouldn’t be able to enjoy due to the theme which seemed to be too serious for me, but actually I did. I can say this movie is enjoyable as a success story about a girl who manages to deal with her adversity. There is no difficulty in understanding it. This movie turns the spotlight on people in distress nowadays and, at the same time, also conveys some messages to the audience. This movie is not only entertaining but also artistic so I think it deserves an award at a film festival.

トランスジェンダーの凪沙（草彅剛）は、新宿のニューハーフショークラブで働いています。ある日、凪沙は母からの電話で、いとこの娘、一果（服部樹咲）を預かることを依頼されます。ネグレクトの挙句に児童相談所に通報がなされ、一果は母親と一時的に離れて暮らすことになったのでした。ぎこちない同居生活を始める2人ですが、やがて、一果がバレエに憧れていることを凪沙は知るのでした……。
Nagisa (Kusanagi Tsuyoshi), a transgender woman, is working at a drag queen club in Shinjuku. One day, Nagisa gets a phone call from her mother and she asks her to take care of a girl named Ichika (Hatori Misaki) who is her cousin’s daughter. The child consultation center was informed about Ichika suffering neglect and she eventually ended up living temporarily away from her mother. The two, Nagisa and Ichika, starts to live together and Nagisa comes to know that Ichika is interested in ballet…….

無口で、笑顔さえほとんど浮かべることのない一果ですが、それだけに彼女の吐き出すような一言には重みがあり、どんどん応援したい気になっていきます。服部樹咲さんの演技は到底新人とは思えません。そんな一果に母性を感じ始める凪沙は、やがて一果にとってかけがえのない存在になっていきます。その過程における凪沙の葛藤や喜びを見事に表現する草彅剛さんの、俳優としての力量を改めて思い知らされました。分かりやすいお話ですが、展開は一筋縄ではいきません。数多くの驚きが隠されています。
ぜひ、劇場で観てほしい映画です。
Ichika is taciturn and hardly ever smiles, but that’s the very reason why her remarks that she manages to say carries great weight with the audience so they make us feel like encouraging her. I can’t believe she is a newcomer because her performance is incredibly good. Ichika, who is so awkward with people, brings out Nagisa’s maternal instinct and Nagisa eventually becomes an indispensable figure for Ichika. I was impressed by Kusanagi’s great skill as an actor because he expressed Nagisa’s bitter turmoil and pleasure while she was trying to be a mother. The story is quite easy to understand but the plot is full of twists and turns. I’m sure you’ll be surprised by them.
This is a movie that I want you to see at a movie theater.
