最後まで、視聴者の安易な予想を許しませんでした。日本テレビのドラマ、「最高の教師」が、昨夜ついに最終回を迎えました。意表を突く展開ながらも、そこには共感できる素晴らしい価値観があり、痛快に府に落ちる結末でした。
It didn't allow viewers to predict how it would go easily. Nihon TV's drama called Saiko no Kyoshi came to an end last night. Although its development defied expectations, it had great sense of values that I could empathize, and its ending was exquisitely convincing.
副題の「１年後、私は生徒に□された」の伏せ字が何か、予想できた人はいたのでしょうか。初めは謎かけとも思わず、ぼんやり「殺された」だと思っていました。観ていくうちに「愛された」なのか、と思ったり、ネットで「騙された」なのではという意見を見かけたりしました。
There was a hidden word in the subtitle, which went, "One year later, I was ### by a student of mine", and I wonder how many people could predict this. I just thought it would be "killed" at first. While watching it, however, I came to think that it could be "loved", and I found someone saying it would be "deceived" on the Internet.
正解は、「託された」でした。ドラマの展開を振り返ったときに、納得しかない答えです。全ての伏線を回収する見事さと言うほかありません。
The right answer was "entrusted". Looking back on the whole story, it is so convincing. It left no question unsolved.
主人公の教師がタイムルーパーという時点で、学園ドラマと呼ぶには異色な設定だと感じていました。それにも関わらず、このドラマは結局、どストレートの学園ドラマでした。これまでのどんな学園ドラマにも劣らず、理想の教師と生徒の姿が描けていたのです。
I had an impression that the settings were unusual compared to typical other school dramas when I learned that the main character was a time looper. Nevertheless, it can be said that this drama turned out to be a genuine school drama. It depicted what an ideal teacher and her students were like as well as the masterpieces of other school dramas ever made.
面白いドラマを作るのに、壮大なロケも豪華すぎるキャストもいらないと、改めて思い知りました。ある種の人物の典型を描き切れるかどうか、ドラマの成否を決めるのは、それだけなのかもしれません。今の時代における、生徒に寄り添う理想の教師とは何かを示したこのドラマは、まさにそれができていたのだと思います。
I realized again that spectacular locations or so many guest stars are not necessary to make a really enjoyable drama. What matters is characterization in making a successful drama, I guess. If so this drama is the right one because it exactly showed what an ideal teacher is like who really cares his or her students' feelings today.
