一番好きだったドラマは？と聞かれたら迷いなく答えます。2008年にフジテレビで放送された「あしたの、喜多善男」です。平均視聴率は7.15％となぜか振るいませんでした。でも、ストーリー、キャスティング、ユーモアとウィット、洒脱な雰囲気、そして音楽といった点において、これほど魅力的なドラマはなかなかないと思います。主役は小日向文世さんで、11日後に人生を終わらせると決意した男を演じていました。
If someone asks me, “What drama do you like best?”. I’ll answer without hesitation, “Ashita no Kita Yoshio” ,which was broadcast in 2008 by Fuji TV. Its audience rating was somehow low, only 7.15 percent. However, I’ve never known such a good drama in some respects like plots, casting, sense of humor and wit, stylish atmosphere and even music. The main character is Kohinata Humiyo and he played a guy who decides to put an end to his life in 11 days.
物語は、飛行機の客室から始まります。窓から差し込む朝日に照らされ、無表情に座っている一人の人物は喜多善男という男です。名前通り善良なだけが取り柄で、騙され続けてきた彼は、愛する妻に理由も告げられず逃げられ、保証人として被った負債で借金取りに追われているのでした。そんな人生に嫌気がさした喜多善男は、生涯唯一の親友の命日である11日後に死ぬと決意し、ある思いを秘めて上京します。タクシー乗り場で、彼はさっそくトラブルに巻き込まれます。割り込もうとしたチンピラ風の男と喧嘩になり、無理やりタクシーに連れ込まれたのでした。威圧的で投げやりな矢代平太（松田龍平）という名のその男は、喜多善男の「ぼくは11日後に人生を終わらせるんです。」という言葉を聞いて、急に好意を示し、勤め先のキャバクラへと連れて行くのですが……。
This drama starts with a scene of the cabin of an aircraft. The guy, who is sitting in a seat expressionlessly in the morning sunlight through the window, is Kita Yoshio. His only strength is good nature, so he has ever been deceived by many people. He was left by his wife without knowing any reason and has been haunted by debt collectors because he stood guarantee for an acquaintance. He is sick and tired of life so he decided to kill himself in 11 days, on the day when his only friend has died, and now he is heading for Tokyo cherishing something in his heart. He soon gets in trouble at a taxi stand. he ends up being pushed into a taxi by a hoodlum-looking guy who cut into the line and quarreled with Yoshio. His name is Yashiro Heita , played by Matsuda Ryuhei, he is overbearing and reckless at first but he suddenly becomes nice just after Yoshio says, “I’m going to put an end to my life in 11 days” and takes Yoshio to a cabaret club where he is working …….
この後の11日間、めくるめく出来事が喜多善男を待ち受けています。彼が出会う人物の全員がそれぞれの思惑をもって彼に近づき、ほぼ一話ごとに善男は殺されそうになります（本人は気付いてないのが可笑しい）。登場人物一人一人のキャラが立っている上に、一つ一つのエピソードが途方もなくて、笑ったり泣いたりの振れ幅を大きくしながらクライマックスに向かっていきます。やがて喜多善男は二重人格であることが明らかになるのですが、そのことと妻の失踪が、親友の死が、そして、ある人物の死亡保険金がやがてつながり、絡み合う展開となっていきます。この複雑なプロットが、最終的に見事に腑に落ちる結末へと収束するのは、さながら一つの奇跡のようです。
During the following 11 days, Kita Yoshio will be involved in whirlwind of incidents. Every person Yoshio meets has some secret intention and Yoshio is nearly killed almost in each episode (the fact that he is somehow not aware of it makes me laugh a lot!). Every character is somewhat distinctive in this drama, and on top of that each episode is somewhat extravagant and the story becomes increasingly exhilarating toward a climax so I sometimes laugh and sometimes cry heartily. Soon he turns out to be a person with a split personality and this fact has something to do with his missing wife, the death of his best friend, and someone’s death benefit. It seems like a miracle when I see this complicated plot coming to an end somewhat spectacularly convincing.
このドラマで好きになった俳優がたくさんいました。次回はこのドラマにおける松田龍平さんの魅力について語りたいと思います。
