エビ中「playlist」の魅力⑧ 後から効いてくる曲:「トレンディガール」 The Charm of the Album “playlist” by Ebichu⑧: “Trendy Girl”, A Song That Doesn’t Take Effect Until Later

Among the tracks in this album, this is the last song I come to like even though I heard this song ahead of the other tracks. This song “Trendy Girl” was the theme song of the drama called “Kami Tunes” starring Ebichu, and it was released as a single six month ahead of the album.

私立恵比寿中学 「トレンディガール」MV

(Yasumoto) What looms up in my normal life is

(Kobayashi) my hunch that I will succeed

(Hoshina) Spring which was pale blue

(Mayama)  seems to be deeper

中山安本)知りたい 知りたい

(Nakayama/Yasumoto) wanna know wanna know

(Kashiwagi) how does the grass feel on the other side of the fence

(Nakayama/Kobayashi) I just wanna play the role

(Kashiwagi) in the teen-age drama over there

(Nakayama/Hoshina) I just wanna write

(Kashiwagi) music that relax you

(Nakayama/Mayama) I just wanna love

(Kashiwagi/Nakayama) my own life

(ALL) Your heart is trendy

      My heart is also trendy

      Maybe We are easily hurt

But the depths of emotion we feel is the latest one

I somehow wasn’t into this song when I heard it as the theme song of the drama. That’s because, I guess, it was when I exclusively listen to their fifth album “MUSiC”, so I was bewildered by the difference of the atmosphere this song had. The comical interjection, which is characteristic of ebichu, can’t be seen here.

This song was written by Enon Kawatani. There are some songs I like in the albums by Gesu no Kiwami Otome, a band he belongs, but I wondered how well his songs go with Ebichu. However, I realized this song is a masterpiece after listening many times through this album. This album is full of sounds played by various bands so this song fits in this album comfortably. This song is arranged quite well so I realize how talented Enon Kawasaki is. He is really active in offering the songs to other artists or some music projects these days.

This song “Trendy Girl”, which showed another potentiality of Ebichu, exactly symbolizes the concept of this album.

According to the order of the tracks, I should have reviewed “HISTORY” this time, but I’m going to do it next time.
