一番先に聴いていたのに、一番遅れて好きになった曲です。エビ中主演のドラマ「神ちゅーんず」の主題歌だったこの「トレンディガール」は、アルバムよりも半年以上前に、シングルとしてリリースされました。
Among the tracks in this album, this is the last song I come to like even though I heard this song ahead of the other tracks. This song “Trendy Girl” was the theme song of the drama called “Kami Tunes” starring Ebichu, and it was released as a single six month ahead of the album.

ドラマの主題歌として聴いていた時には、あまりハマれないでいました。前のアルバム「MUSiC」ばかり聴いていた頃で、雰囲気の違いに戸惑ったからだと思います。エビ中らしさの一つである、コミカルな合いの手など、ここにはありません。
I somehow wasn’t into this song when I heard it as the theme song of the drama. That’s because, I guess, it was when I exclusively listen to their fifth album “MUSiC”, so I was bewildered by the difference of the atmosphere this song had. The comical interjection, which is characteristic of ebichu, can’t be seen here.
作詞作曲は川谷絵音さんです。ゲスの極み乙女。のアルバムで好みの曲は多いのですが、エビ中との相性はどうなのだろうと勝手にいぶかしんでいました。しかし、アルバムを通して聴く中で、名曲と分かりました。バンドサウンド主体のこのアルバムにおいては、なんの違和感もあるはずがなく、気持ちよくハマれます。編曲のよさに、川谷絵音さんの才能を改めて感じます。最近は、他のアーティストへの楽曲提供や様々なプロジェクトで活躍されています。
This song was written by Enon Kawatani. There are some songs I like in the albums by Gesu no Kiwami Otome, a band he belongs, but I wondered how well his songs go with Ebichu. However, I realized this song is a masterpiece after listening many times through this album. This album is full of sounds played by various bands so this song fits in this album comfortably. This song is arranged quite well so I realize how talented Enon Kawasaki is. He is really active in offering the songs to other artists or some music projects these days.
エビ中の新たな可能性を示したこの「トレンディガール」は、まさにアルバム「playlist」のコンセプトを象徴する１曲だと思います。
This song “Trendy Girl”, which showed another potentiality of Ebichu, exactly symbolizes the concept of this album.
曲順から言えば、今回取り上げるべきだった「HISTORY」の感想は、次回書くことにします。
