大好きだったドラマが帰ってきます。2021年の春に放送されていた、横山裕さん主演のドラマ、「コタローは1人暮らし」の続編が4月15日に始まるようです。以下、公式サイトから抜粋した新シーズン第一話のあらすじです。
My favorite drama is coming back. The sequel of the drama called ‘Kotaro Lives Alone’, which was aired in the spring of 2021, will start on April 4th. The following is part of the summary I extracted from its official website.
「とある街にある昔ながらの佇まい『アパートの清水』――。そこでは今日も、売れない漫画家・狩野進（横山裕）が締め切りを迎えて早々に彼女にフラれるところを同じ階の秋友美月（山本舞香）に冷めた目で目撃され、その騒がしさの中でも、訳あって１人暮らし中の少年・さとうコタロー（川原瑛都）は静かに朝の準備を進めていた。この春からめでたく小学校に入学したコタロー。ランドセルを背負い、１人で小学校に通っていく姿を、狩野や美月、そして１階の田丸勇（生瀬勝久）は頼もしくも少し寂しい気持ちで見送るのだった。そんなある日、コタローは突然「しょくぎょうくんれん」を始めると言い出す……。」
“It is a story about some residents in an old apartment house called ‘Apartment Shimizu’. Shin Karino, an unsuccessful manga artist, gets dumped by his girlfriend just after finishing a work, and another resident called Mizuki Akitomo sees the scene, while Kotaro quietly does what to do in the morning. Kotaro just started to go to elementary school this spring. Karino, Mizuki, and Isamu Tamura, a resident on the ground floor, see off Kotaro who goes to school alone with mixed feelings of relieves and anxieties. One day, Kotaro surprises them by saying that he is going to start ‘job training’……”

前シーズンでは、まだ幼かったコタローの、あまりの可愛さに心を奪われました。そのコタローがもう小学生になるというのは、たしかにちょっと寂しい気もします。しかし、哀しい生い立ちに負けず、前へ進もうとするコタローを応援する気持ちは高まるばかりです。
I was carried away by the incredible cuteness of young Kotaro through the season 1. I also have mixed feelings when I heard he grew to go to elementary school. However, I all the more want to root for him to step forward despite his disadvantaged background.
あとで知ったのですが、主役の横山裕さんは、幼い頃に両親が離婚し、複雑な家庭環境で育ったとのこと。芸能活動を始めたころは、建設会社でも働きながら、家計を支えていたそうです。母親が亡くなった後、弟たちの面倒を見ていたというエピソードには、このドラマと重なる所があり、胸を打たれます。
After watching the season 1, I learned that Yuu Yokoyama, who played the main character, also has a complicated, unhappy background because of the divorce of his parents in his childhood. He supported the household working at a construction company when he started his career as an entertainer. He took care of his younger brothers after their mom passing away, and I was a bit moved because his real life was somewhat similar to this drama.
