前回、「最近のドラマにノレずにいます」とか書いたばかりです。でも、ありました。面白いです。ものすごくノレています。テレ朝で土曜夜11時30分から放送されているドラマ、「コタローは1人暮らし」。お勧めされて、第6話から観てみました。すぐに惹き込まれました。
I just wrote last time, “I can’t get into the mood for recent dramas”. But I found one. It is really worth watching. I’m now into it for sure. The serial drama called ‘Kotaro wa Hitorigrashi (Kotaro lives by himself)’is broadcast at 11:30 p.m. every Saturday on TV Asahi. I was recommended to watch this drama so I gave episode 6 a try. I soon found myself being carried away with it.

“Karino Shin, an unsuccessful cartoonist leading a self-indulgent way of life, lives in an apartment which is supposed to accept only people without children. One day, a mysterious boy named Sato kotaro who is 5 years old moves into the apartment next to Karino, then…….”
無表情なコタローですが、なぜか殿様言葉で話します。狩野の部屋を訪ねた際に言った言葉は、「隣に引っ越してきたさとうと申す。以後、お見知りおきを」というものでした。腰には常におもちゃの刀を差し、なぜか高級ティッシュを普段使いにしています。あまりに可愛らしいコタローの言動に、まず笑顔になること必至です。しかし、お話が進むにつれ、彼を特徴づけているこうしたことの一つ一つが、実は悲しい生い立ちから来ていることを知り、その健気さに胸を打たれることになります。
Kotaro’s face is always expressionless and he speaks in a lordlike way somehow. What he said when he visited Karino’s room for the first time was, “I am sato. I moved into the next room. I am very glad to make your acquaintance”. He wears a toy sword at his side and, for some reason, uses expensive tissue paper. I’m sure you cannot help smiling at his extremely adorable way of speaking or acting. However, you’ll soon learn those behaviors, which characterize Kotaro, are the result of the sadness he has experienced as the story develops and end up being strongly moved.
コタローを演じている子役は、川原瑛都さんという方です。渡辺直美さん主演のドラマ「カンナさーん！」（2017）で彼女の息子役だったと言えば、すぐに思い浮かぶ方も多いのではないでしょうか。彼の愛らしさは圧倒的です。それに劣らず、このドラマを良いものにしているのが、周りの大人たちを演じる俳優さんたちです。特に狩野を演じる関ジャニ∞の横山裕さんの演技が素晴らしいです。第7話における、コタローを思いやる狩野の言動に、恥ずかしいぐらい泣きました。第8話では、狩野自身が、両親を早くに亡くし、伯父と伯母に育てられたことが明らかになり、コタローへの想いの深さにきちんと理由付けがなされます。他にも、生瀬勝久さんや光石研さん、山本舞香さんに、ももクロの百田夏菜子さんと、意外なほど豪華な俳優陣が脇を固めています。
The child actor who plays Kotaro is Kawahara Eito. The fact that he played the role of the son of Kanna, the main character of a 2017 drama called ‘Kanna san!’ featuring Watanabe Naomi, may ring a bell. He is overwhelmingly adorable. Plus other actors also make this drama better as well as him. Yokoyama Yu, who plays Karino, is particularly good among them. I cried embarrassingly when I saw him trying to be nice to Kotaro in episode 7. In episode 8, the fact that Karino’s parents passed away when he was still young so he was brought up by his uncle and aunt was revealed and the audience learn the reason why he care for Kotaro so much. Besides Yokoyama, unexpectedly famous actors appear in this drama such as Namase Katsuhisa, Mitsuishi Ken, Yamamoto Maika, Momota Kanako from the idol band called Momoiro Clover Z, and so on.
いいドラマというのは、出演者のことが愛おしく思えるものだと思います。このドラマはまさにそれです。楽しみで、待ち遠しく思えるドラマに出会えて大喜びしています。
I have a feeling that I tend to have deep affection to the actors in a good drama. This drama is exactly a typical one. I’m really pleased now because I found a drama which is so enjoyable that I feel impatient for the next episodes.
