「ほくろっくび」と読むそうです。3ピースバンド、「黒子首」によるこの曲「Mermaid」は何かしら意味深な歌詞に惹き込まれる良曲です。
The band’s name reads Hokurokkubi. The song called Mermaid sung by this band, which consists of three members, is really good because it has meaningful lyrics and I was fascinated by them.

イントロのギターリフでもう連れていかれます。ベースの刻みが気持ちいいです。この意味深な歌詞は、文字通りマーメイドについて歌ったものでしょうか。それとも、ある人物について、マーメイドを比喩として語ったものでしょうか。いずれにせよ独特の世界観に惹き込まれます。同時に、何かしら切なさを感じて胸が苦しいような気持になります。けれども、後半には次のような歌詞があって、今度は救いと希望を感じて胸が熱くなります。
I am carried away just by the guitar riff at the first few bars. The rhythm of the bass makes me feel good. I wonder if these meaningful lyrics are literary about a mermaid or about someone described figuratively. Anyway, I am fascinated by its unique worldview. At the same time, somehow I feel a wistful pang and my heart is in pain. However, there are words as follows in the second half of the lyrics and I feel relieved and some hope at them so I get emotional.

「あなただったのね」のところだけ、一瞬無音になり、ボーカルだけが響きます。なぜかほっとして、目頭が熱くなります。
The part, “It surely was you”, was highlighted without music and the voice impressively resonates. At this part, somehow I feel relieved and almost moved to tears.
作詞作曲は、ギター兼ボーカルの堀胃あげはさんが行っています。あとのメンバーはベースのみとさん、そしてドラムの田中そい光さんです。他の楽曲も聴いてみましたが、独自の世界観を持ちながら、とっても聴きやすいキャッチーな曲ばかりです。これからの活躍が楽しみなバンドです。
The words and the music were written by Horii Ageha, the guitarist and the vocalist of the band. Other members are Mito, the bassist, and Tanaka Soiko, the drummer. I listened to some other songs by them and I found them so catchy despite their unique worldview. This band looks so promising.
