人生で初めて好きになった俳優はブルース・リーか、ショーン・コネリーのどちらかです。まだ幼かったからはっきりとは覚えていませんが、映画館で「ドラゴンへの道」を観たのと同じころに、「ロシアより愛をこめて」をテレビで観たように思います。
The first actor I came to like was either Bruce Lee or Sean Connery. I was a little boy so I don’t remember well, but I suppose I watched the movie called ‘From Russia with Love’ on TV at about the same time as I saw ‘The Way of the Dragon’ at a movie theater.

ほとんどは自分が生まれる前の作品ですが、唯一、「ネバーセイ・ネバーアゲイン」だけは映画館で観ることができました。自分にとっては、父と一緒に行った最後の映画という意味で、思い出深い作品です。ストーリーはサンダーボール作戦の焼き直しで、正直つまらなく感じたのですが、改めて観てみたくなっています。
Most of them are films that were released before I was born, but I saw ‘Never Say Never Again’ at a movie theater. The movie was an unforgettable memory for me because it was the last one that I went to with my father. Honestly, the story is only a rehash of ‘Thunderball’ so I felt bored at that time, but I’d like to see it again.
ショーン・コネリーは、「007は二度死ぬ」のロケで1966年に来日しています。中学時代の親友の話では、彼の父が勤めていた鹿児島のホテルに、ショーン・コネリーが宿泊したとのこと。初めてそれを聴いたとき、ワクワクしたのを覚えています。
Sean Connery came to Japan for shooting on ‘You Only Live Twice’ in 1966. According to my best friend in junior high school, Sean Connery stayed at the hotel where his father worked in Kagoshima at the time. I remember I was exhilarated when I heard that story for the first time.
007シリーズ原作者のイアン・フレミングは、ジェームズボンドに相応しい俳優として、はじめからロジャー・ムーアを挙げていたようです。それでも自分にとっては、ジェームズボンドはやはりショーン・コネリーです。今でも原作を読み返すときは、心の中にショーン・コネリーを浮かべています。久しぶりに「ロシアより愛をこめて」を観てみました。もう出だしから惹き込まれました。007シリーズに限らず、ショーン・コネリーの出演作を漁ってみたくなっています。
Ian Fleming, the author of the 007 series, originally wanted Roger Moore to play James Bond. Even so, my image of James Bond is Sean Connery for sure. Even now, I sometimes reread the series imagining him playing James Bond. I saw ‘From Russia with Love’ again after a long time. I was into it from the beginning. I feel like watching all the movies featuring Sean Connery, not to mention the whole 007 series.
