料簡のせまい地方民らしく、東京を歌い上げる曲が苦手です。好きなアーティストでも、そんな曲にはノルものかとムキになります。そんな自分がノレています。GLIM SPANKYの「東京は燃えてる」、めちゃくちゃいいです。
A narrow-minded, country bumpkin like me doesn’t like the kind of song that expresses how good the place Tokyo is. Even if my favorite artists produce that sort of song, I would pretend not to be interested in it. Even so, this time I’ve been already carried away. The song called ‘Tokyo wa Moeteru’ by GLIM SPANKY is so good.

東京最高です。もう東京しか勝ちません。ボーカル、ギター、その他聞こえる音全てがカッコいいです。クセになるフレーズ満載です。バカ売れしていい曲です。MVがまたいいです。自分の居場所を探して東京を彷徨う主人公の青年、その合間にGLIM SPANKYの2人が、ビルの屋上で、路地裏で歌う姿が映し出されます。やがて打ちひしがれ、うなだれていた青年があげたその顔は……。
Tokyo is awesome. It is far the best. All the sounds you hear in this song are so cool not to mention the singing voice and the sound of guitar. It is full of addictive phrases. This song could be a big hit. The MV for it is also good. In the MV, a young guy wanders in Tokyo looking for a place he can belong in, and the two of GLIM SPANKY appears at interval singing and playing in some places, on the roof of a building, in a alleyway and so on. In the end you see the guy crushed with despair, but the face he lifts is…….
GLIM SPANKYにすっかり魅せられて、YouTubeを漁ってみると、亀田誠治さんとセッションしているMVを見つけました。
Fascinated by GLIM SPANKY, I searched YouTube for their MVs and found an MV in which they play with Kameda Seiji, my favorite bassist and producer.
