How are their songs so catchy? I intently listen to the 5 songs that YOASOBI, a Japanese music duo, has released during commuting, of course, and even taking a bath bringing a speaker into the bathroom. This song I’m mentioning here is their 2nd digital single.

出だしは、伴奏なしでikuraさんの声だけが響きます。歌詞の通り、漆黒の闇を背景に明るく咲く花のような色彩が、心に浮かびます。彼女の声はどの音域においても常に余力を感じます。こんなに耳に心地よい声質はめったにないように思います。そして、彼女の声が乗っかっている音楽の心地よさも決してひけをとりません。駆け抜けるようなピアノの音に心を奪われます。ボーカルの合間のちょっとしたフレーズがクセになります。伴奏のギターも気持ちいいです。素人なのでよくわかりませんが、基本的に短調の曲に思えるのに、明るく響くのが不思議です。
In the first few bars, ikura sings without accompaniment. Some colorful images come to mind like flowers which bloom brightly with pitch-darkness in the background as in the lyrics. I have a feeling that her voice always keeps much energy in reserve in any range. I suppose you rarely come across such a voice quality that makes you feel so good. Plus, the accompaniment which she sings with is as good as her voice. You’ll be fascinated by the piano playing running through the song. Some phrases that you can hear in pauses of the singing are quite addictive. The sound of the guitar is also good. I’m no expert but their music sounds bright even though they seem to be written in a minor key.
本名の幾多りらとしてikuraさんが参加している「ぷらそにか」、ボカロPとしてのAyaseさんの音源にも興味が出ています。
I even become interested in not only ‘Plusonica’, the band ikura takes part in under her real name, Ikuta Lilas, but also the songs Ayase writes as a vocal producer.
