YOASOBIの「夜に駆ける」が、ビルボードのJAPAN総合ソング・チャートで1位を獲得したことが話題になっています。リリースは昨年の11月、しかもCDでのリリースはなしでの快挙です。自分自身、いまだに飽きてなくて、かかるとワクワクしてしまいます。
The news that the song called ‘Yoru ni Kakeru’ by YOASOBI topped the Billboard Japan’s Hot 100 has become a national topic of conversation. The song was released as an online exclusive song in November last year without CD version, so it can be said that the achievement is a brilliant feat. As far as I’m concerned, I still can’t get enough of it at all and get exhilarated whenever I hear it even now.

ボーカルのikuraさんの声があまりにも魅力的なので、このところ彼女のソロアルバムを聴き込んでいました。初めは、YOASOBIとのギャップに驚きました。アコースティックな曲にエモーショナルな歌声、「夜に駆ける」とは正反対のような曲ばかりです。驚きはすぐに喜びに変わりました。彼女は、自分が好きな吉澤嘉代子さんをはじめとした、アコギ1本で勝負できる女性シンガーソングライターの系譜に連なる一人に違いありません。
The voice of ikura, the vocalist, is so fascinating that I gave her solo album a try and soon got into it. At first, I was surprised by the gap between the songs by YOASOBI and hers. Her songs are quite acoustic and her way of singing is emotional, so I felt that they are the exact opposite of YOASOBI’s. However, the surprise I got first is soon turned into joy. I’m now convinced that she is one of those female singer-songwriters who is appealing enough with a guitar, like Yoshizawa Kayoko, a favorite singer-songwriter of mine.

自分が聴いているアルバムは、昨年の11月に配信された2ndミニアルバム「Jukebox」で、次の5曲が収録されています。
The album I’m listening to is her second mini album called ‘Jukebox’ which contains the following five songs.
1.「おまじない」 ‘Omajinai’
2.「通り雨」 ‘Toriame’
3.「ロマンスの約束」 ‘Romance no Yakusoku’
4.「ラブレター」 ‘Love Letter’
5.「真夜中の君と」 ‘Mayonaka no Kimito’
いいです。やっぱり歌が上手いです。流行りも、個人の好みも超えたよさを感じます。シンプルなアレンジの曲ばかりですが、それだけに楽曲の素性のよさが際立ちます。若者らしい素直な、一切難解なところのない歌詞とメロディーです。
次回は特に好きな曲について感想を書きたいと思います。
They are so good. She is a really good singer for sure. Her songs are good enough that they go beyond the trend of music or one’s liking. Every song is arranged in a simple way and that’s the very reason why I can feel the essence of her songs. Her words and melodies are quite simple because they are written in a manner typical of young people without any obscurities.
I will write about my favorite song in the album next time.
