長崎に来たらぜひ:「永楽苑」のちゃんぽん Something I Want You to Give a Try in Nagasaki: Chinese Restaurant “Eirakuen”’s Champon

I have an impression that plenty of people mention this Chinese restaurant when they talk about delicious champon in Nagasaki. The restaurant is “Eirakuen” in Edomachi, Nagasaki city. It is located in the back alley of the Bunmeido main store, which is famous for castella, close to Dejima, a bit far from the shopping area though.

The soup is pretty clear, almost transparent, and you may find it light as it looks at first when you take a sip of it, then I’m sure you must realize it is seasoned very well. The noodles are somewhat thin compared to other restaurant’s ones. Plenty of vegetables and steamed fish paste are used as ingredient. The more you eat it, the more you feel the soup become tasty, so you may drain it to the last drop.

The price of the champon is so reasonable and, on top of that, you can order a large portion of it with an extra one hundred fifty yen. There is another popular meal called “Shiitake Niku Soba (Noodles with Mushroom and Pork in soup)”in this restaurant. This restaurant is rather famous for this meal judging from the review which can be seen in some gourmet food information site on the internet.

I hope you give it a try when you come to Nagasaki.
