気に入った曲を集めて、勝手なコンピを作るのが好きでした。一曲目はやはり、キャッチーで気持ちが上がるものを持ってきたいところですが、この曲はまさにぴったりな気がします。

他愛もないラブソングですが、本当にキャッチーで可愛い歌です。
ニューヨークはブルックリン出身のこの５人組は、地元で人気のグループだったとのこと。メジャーレーベルのキャピトルと契約したものの、ナショナルチャートの上位に入るようなヒットには恵まれなかったそうです。１９５９年に出したこの「オー・ローズ・マリー」は彼らの３枚目のシングルでしたが、やはり、あまり売れ行きは思わしくなく、その後解散した模様。こんなにいい曲なのに、と不思議に思ってしまいます。Wikipediaにも載ってないこの曲は、隠れた名曲と言えるかもしれません。

They are a five-piece band from Brooklyn, New York, and they were locally popular very much. They signed with Capitol, a major record company, but couldn’t hit the national chart. This song, “Oh Rose Marie”, was their third single but it did not sell well either and, unfortunately, they ended up breaking up. I wonder why it didn’t hit the charts, even though it is such a good song. It could be said that this song is what is called a little-known great song because I can't find this song in Wikipedia.
