A Record of My Short Trip: I fully enjoyed the great view of Mt. Fuji by Lake Kawaguchi

The next place where we went after Oshinohakkai was Lake Kawaguchi. My friend booked a hotel by the lake. The name of the hotel is ‘Kaze no Terrace KUKUNA’. Our room was on the fifth floor, and you can see Mt. Fuji from the window.

For dinner, we enjoyed both a set menu and the buffe. First, we had the set menu, then we relished many dishes including local ingredients from the buffet tables. All the dishes were so delicious and, sure enough, I ate too much. After that we went up to the bath with a great view, which I had been looking forward to the most there, but it was already dark so we couldn’t see Mt. Fuji at all. We saved it for the next day and fully enjoyed the beautiful night view with some lights around the lake.

The next morning, the first thing we did was go for a walk in the icy wind. We crossed the road in front of the hotel and walked down to the lake shore and found a path running along the lake. The path was called ‘Kawaguchiko’s North Shore Walking Trail’, there were some cafes and boat houses along it. I found some puddles frozen between the clumps of reeds. On the way, I also found a memorial park for Masao Koga, a prominent composer in Japan. I saw Mt. Fuji across the lake. The air was so cold that my ears hurt, even so it was a really delightful walk. After about an hour walk, we had a tasty breakfast and then went up to the bath. The weather was good, so we enjoyed the great view of Mt. Fuji without clouds.
