きっかけは勘違いでした。ノートパソコンに接続していたスピーカーが壊れたので、ネットで検索したところこれを見かけました。ちょうどタイムセールか何かで安かったので、よく考えもせずに買ったのでした。
It just happened by my mistake. A pair of speakers, which I connected to my laptop computer, somehow broke so I was searching for new ones on the internet and ended up finding this. They held a bargain sale and its price was quite reasonable, so I bought it without thinking about it.
届いてみると、思いのほかの小ささに驚きました。ワクワクしながらパソコンにつなごうと外部入力を探してみますが、出力しか見当たりません。当たり前です。このスピーカーは接続を前提としない、独立したスマートスピーカーだからです。目的を達することができなくて途方にくれましたが、返品するのも面倒なので、とりあえず使ってみることにしました。
I was surprised that it was unexpectedly small. I tried to find an input jack with eager anticipation, but there was only an output jack. No wonder I couldn’t find it. That’s because it is an independent speaker, which was not designed to be connected to a music player or something like that. I was frustrated that it couldn’t do what I wanted it to do, but it was troublesome to return it so I decided to keep it.
アマゾンミュージックは登録済みなので、ひとまず音楽を聴きたくて試してみました。「アレクサ、今週のJ-POPをかけて」というと、ちゃんとかけてくれました。Iriさんの楽曲を聴きたくて、「アレクサ、iriの曲をかけて」というと今度は自分が知らない演歌をかけようとしたので、「アレクサ、とめて」と言いました。もう一度はっきり言いなおすとちゃんとiriさんの曲をシャッフル再生してくれました。今度は「WONK（ウォンク）の曲をかけて」というとセロニアス・モンクの曲をかけようにかかりました。もう一度試すと今度はワンオクの曲をかけようとします。「ワンク」という発音でようやくWONKをかけてくれました。
I’ve already signed up for Amazon Music, so I tried to play music with the speaker. I said, “Alexa, play J-pop songs released this week”, then it played them without any problems. I wanted to listen to iri’s songs, so I said, “Alexa, play iri’s songs”, but it tried to play enka, a sort of Japanese traditional ballad, that I don’t know at all, so I said, “Stop playing music”. I asked the same with clear articulation again and this time it played iri’s songs randomly. Then I said, “Alexa, play WONK’s songs”, but it tried to play Thelonious Monk’s tunes. I asked the same again, but this time it tried to play the songs by ONE OK ROCK, a Japanese rock band, I finally succeeded by saying, “WANK”.
使いこなすのは、なかなか難しそうですが、楽しく遊べています。レビューは次回に続きます。
It seems difficult to make full use of the gadget, but I’m having fun with it now.
