椎名林檎さんの初期の作品を初めて聴いたときは、聴く人を選ぶ音楽だと勝手に思っていました。でも、聴けば聴くほど、曲の素性がとってもキャッチーであることが分かってきて嬉しくなりました。大好きな曲はたくさんありますが、ここ数年で一番好きなのがこの曲「ジユーダム」です。
I thought her songs are a sort of music that is challenging for some listeners, when I heard Ringo Sheena’s songs for the first time. However, the more I listen to her songs, the more I can tell how catchy their songs are essentially, so I was glad. There are a lot of songs I love, and the best one for me these years is this song called ‘Jiyu-dom’.

この曲は、2016年からNHKの番組、「ガッテン！」の主題歌として使われています。自分は、この番組を観ていなくて、ちゃんと聴いたのはアルバム「三毒史」からでした。ちょっとミュージカルを思わせるコミカルな曲調は、一度聴いただけでくせになります。
This song is used as the theme song of the TV program ‘Gatten’ by NHK. I didn’t watch this TV program before, so it was not until I bought her album ‘Sandokushi’ that I listened to this song properly. The melodies of this song, which sounds comical and somehow reminds me of some musical tunes, are quite addictive even at the first listen.
この曲の演奏については、実質、東京事変のメンバーがそろっているようです。今年の元日の突然の再結成は衝撃でした。すぐにライブのチケットの抽選に申し込みましたが、案の定外れました。当選していても、このコロナ騒ぎで行けなかったのですが、いつか行ける日がくることを信じています。
As for the players of this song, in fact, they are the members of Tokyo Jihen. I was amazed when they go back together on the first day of this year. I tried to get the ticket for their concert, but I couldn’t get it as I had thought. If I could have gotten the ticket, I wouldn’t have been able to go to their concert due to this COVID-19 disaster. I believe someday I can do it.
