いつの時代も、聴ききれないほど、よいアルバムが世の中に生み出されています。よいと思ったら言いたくてたまらなくなる性分ですが、アルバムの全曲をいちいち語っていたらいくら時間があっても足りないので、3曲に絞って書いていきたいと思います。
There’s been too many good albums to listen to properly in the world throughout the history of pop music. I’m prone to say something when I find an album so good. However, I don’t have enough time to talk about all the tracks in an album so I decided to write about only three songs from an album.
ジョージ・エズラの２ndアルバム「Staying at Tamara’s」も捨て曲のない秀逸なアルバムです。この季節にドライブしながら聴いたら、気持ち良すぎて、目的地を無視して先に行きたくなるような曲ばかりです。選ぶのは難しいのですが、今回は2曲目、「Don’t matter Now」を取り上げたいと思います。
George Ezra’s 2nd album, ‘Staying at Tamara’s’ is also a great album that has no dull tracks. All the songs in it makes me feel so good that I feel like passing the destination to go further away while driving my car especially in this season. Actually, it’s really difficult for me to pick out a song, but I’d like to choose ‘Don’t matter Now’, the second track, this time.

イギリス人の友人、ベンはジョージ・エズラの曲は歌詞がいいと言います。声からは信じられませんが、ジョージ・エズラはまだ20代後半です。若者の気持ちをうまく代弁しているところがあるに違いありません。
My friend Ben, an English guy, says the lyrics by George Ezra are so good. Judging from only his voice, maybe you can’t believe that he is still in his late twenties. I’m sure he speaks for young people in the lyrics so well.
曲自体については、ホーンの伸びやかな使い方に、オーティス・レディングあたりのリズム＆ブルースのテイストを感じます。コーラスも含めて、黒っぽさが光ります。
As to the song itself, I feel the same taste as old rhythm & blues by, for example, Otis Redding, in the way of using a relaxed horn section. This song has a quite soulful sound also in the way of using backing vocalists.
