近年の俳優で、これほど不敵で恐ろしいほどの凄みを出せる人はあまりいなかったように思います。2015年に亡くなられた今井雅之さんです。このドラマでは、喜多善男の唯一の親友で、11年前に飛行機事故で亡くなったという、三波貴男を演じていました。
I can’t come up with any other recent actors as fearless and terribly threatening as him. The actor is Imai Masayuki who died in 2015. In this drama, He played the guy called Minami Takao who is supposed to be the best friend of Kita Yoshio and have died in a plane crash 11 years ago.
その夜、電話越しに聞くその声に、鷲巣みずほ（小西真奈美）は息をのみました。それは、11年前に死んだはずの男、三波貴男だったのです。そして、この人物こそ、みずほが想い続けてきた男なのでした。しかし、電話をしてきた三波の目的は、みずほが疑われている夫の事故死について、自分は全くの無関係だと告げるためでした。
That night, Washizu Mizuho (Konishi Manami) gasps at the voice that she hears on the phone. It is the voice of the guy called Minami Takao, who is supposed to have died 11 years ago. This is the only guy she has loved from long ago. However, the reason why Minami calls her is to tell her that he has nothing to do with the accidental death of her husband, the case she is suspected of having a hand in.

三波の命日に死ぬと決心している善男のもとへ、保険調査員の杉本（生瀬勝久）が、三波の友人を装って接触してきます。杉本は三波について、善男が知らなかった事実を伝えます。それは、三波が優秀な心理学者だったということでした。11年前に足を骨折した善男は同じ入院患者同士として三波と知り合います。それ以来妙に気が合い、腹蔵なく話し合える親友だと思っていた善男にとって、それはショックなことでした。その病院で看護師をしていたみずほと結婚できたのも、三波の後押しがあったからなのです。交際のきっかけは、1冊の画集でした。アンドリュー・ワイエスという画家がみずほは好きらしい、と善男に耳打ちしたのが三波でした。三波がどんな人物だったのかもっと知りたくなった善男は、三波の知り合いだったという女性に会い、みずほとの結婚について、恐ろしい事実を知ってしまうのですが……。
Sugimoto (Namase Katsuhisa), an insurance investigator, makes contact with Kita Yoshio, who decided to kill himself on the day Minami died, pretending a friend of Minami. Sugimoto tells Yoshio the fact that Yoshio didn’t know. The fact is that Minami was a great psychologist. Yoshio got acquainted with Minami when they were inmates in the same hospital after Yoshio broke his leg. They somehow hit it off well with each other so Yoshio was shocked by the fact because he has been thinking that they were the best of friends so they talked about anything frankly. He even owed his marriage with Mizuho who worked at the hospital as a nurse to him because it didn’t happen without Minami’s support. Their romance began with a book of paintings. The one who told Yoshio that Mizuho seemed to like a painter called Andrew Wyeth was Minami. Yoshio wants to know what Minami was like so he sees a woman who knew Minami well ending up knowing an awful fact that has something to do with his marriage with Mizuho.

三波貴男は、とんでもない男でした。彼は私利私欲のために、心理学者としての知識を利用して、善男をわなに嵌めようとしていたのです。そしてその矢先に、飛行機事故で死亡したことになったのでした。実際には搭乗していなかった彼は、現在輸入業者として生計を立てており、みずほに連絡してきたのも、ただ自分の保身のためだけだったのです。真実を知りたくて、善男は三波と対面します。全ての謎が明らかになり、善男はついに二重人格を克服するのですが、それは結局、死の決心を強めるだけとなるのでした。お人好しの仮面を脱ぎ捨てた善男は、ただ自分の人生を終わらせるため、1人、行方をくらまし、物語はクライマックスを迎えます。
Minami Takao was a terrible guy. He trapped Yoshio making use of his expertise as a psychologist just for his own interests, then he was on the list of victims of the plane crash. He didn’t actually get aboard the plane and he is now an import trader. The reason that he called her was to protect himself. Yoshio finally meets him just because he wants to know the truth. As all the riddles are solved, Yoshio can eventually get over his dal personality, but it just hardens him in his determination of killing himself. Quitting pretending a good-natured person, Yoshio goes into hiding alone and the story builds up to its climax.
ほんとに愛し合ってると思い込ませないとだめなんだよ。わかるだろ？
今井雅之さんといえばすぐに浮かぶドラマがもう一つあります。中居正広さん主演の「味いちもんめ」です。荒っぽくて、後輩を容赦なく叱り飛ばず板前を演じておられました。今井さんと中居さんの取っ組み合いは、本当に演技なのかと疑いたくなるほど、真に迫ったものでした。ナカイの窓に今井さんが出演されて、当時の話になったときには本当にワクワクしました。「味いちもんめ」のビデオ化を熱望しています。
The name, Imai Masayuki, reminds me of a drama. That is the drama called “Aji Ichi Monme” featuring Nakai Masahiro. Imai played a cook who is quite rough and scolds the junior colleagues. The fight they had in that drama was something that made me feel as if it is a real one. I remember when Imai appeared in the TV program called Nakai no Mado and talked about the memory of that drama. I was really exhilarated to hear what they talked. I really hope that they will release the video of “Aji Ichi Monme” in the future.
