このドラマを観るまで、ただ目の大きい俳優さんというイメージしかありませんでした。でも、このドラマを通じて、生瀬さんがもつ可笑しみがわかるとともに、場面によっては凄みまで感じてワクワクしました。ここでの役柄は、保険会社の調査員というものでした。喜多善男（小日向文世）の元妻、鷲巣みずほ（小西真奈美）の現在の夫の事故死について疑念を抱き、執拗に調べていく中で、善男の11日間にも大きく関わっていくことになります。
I had had an impression that he is just an actor with big eyes until I watched this drama. However, I eventually understood Namase’s humor and even thrilled with his somewhat threatening character sometimes. He played a investigator for an insurance company in this drama. He ends up having something to do with the 11 days the period that is left for Kita Yoshio while having some questions about Mizuho’s husband’s death in an water accident and investigating it.
一見、気丈な女社長のみずほですが、仕事帰りには、箱庭療法のセラピーを受けるほどにもろい一面をもっています。その日、セラピーを終えて地下駐車場の車に乗り込もうとしたところへ、一人の男が不意に話しかけてきたのでした。長身で、メガネの奥に大きな目をギョロつかせるその男は、杉本マサルと名乗る保険調査員でした。挑発的で遠慮のない物言いの杉本とやり取りをする中で、みずほは、水難事故で亡くした夫の死について、不信の目が自身に向けられているのに気付きます。彼女の夫には１０億円もの保険金が掛けられていたのでした。トラブルを避けたいみずほは部下の森脇大輔（要潤）に命じ、杉本について調べさせます。
At first glance she seems to be a strong-willed female president but, actually, she is so weak that she needs to have sandplay therapy after work. On that day, she is about to get on her car after the therapy, a guy speaks to her suddenly. He is an insurance investigator called Sugimoto Masaru, who is rather tall and have goggling eyes behind the glasses. She notices that she is under suspicion of something about her husband’s death caused by a water accident while she talks with the guy who speaks in a somewhat provocative, aggressive way. Her husband’s insurance was up to a billion yen. Mizuho who wants to avoid any trouble orders one of her subordinate called Moriwaki Daisuke (Kaname Jun) to look into what he is like as an insurance researcher.
杉本はすでに喜多善男の存在はもちろん、みずほと善男の関係についても何かしらの秘密があることを嗅ぎつけていました。善男がバッグをひったくられたのも、実は杉本が部下の与田良一（丸山智己）に命じたもので、善男のバッグに発信器を取り付けるのが目的でした。善男の居所は常に杉本らに筒抜けなのでした。
Sugimoto has already known about the existence of Kita Yoshio and got a clue to the secret of the relationship between Mizuho and Yoshio. The bag snatching that happened to Yoshio was caused by him who ordered his subordinate named Yoda Ryoichi in order to put a homing device on the bag. So Yoshio’s whereabouts are always known to Sugimoto.
生命保険入ってくんないかな ・・・・・・
多額の保険金を掛けられた男がもう一人、それは喜多善男でした。みずほに会う前日、有頂天で感謝の言葉を並べる善男に対し、平太は言いづらそうにためらった挙句、「生命保険入ってくんないかな」と言い放つのでした。一瞬、途方に暮れた善男でしたが、平太の彼女、長谷川リカ（栗山千明）のノルマだという平太の言い訳に、事情は呑み込んだという表情で諒承します。喜多善男を巡る人々の思惑は次第に露骨になっていきます。その全容を最も掴める立場にいる杉本は、次第に善男への同情を募らせていくのですが……。
There is another guy who is insured with a large amount of money. That is Kita Yoshio. On the day before he sees Mizuho again, Yoshio rapturously thanks Heita a lot and Heita hesitates for a while to say this, “Will you buy insurance?”. Yoshio is surprised at the words but he soon accepted willingly Heita’s excuse that Hasegawa Rika (Kuriyama Chiaki), who is his girlfriend, she was imposed a quota. The intention of people around Yoshio becomes obvious gradually, and the very person who gets the picture well is Sugimoto so he begins to feel sympathy to Yoshio.
あの大きな目にかかっては、どんな秘密も隠しておくことができないように思います。保険の調査が目的だったのが、いつの間にか、善男の存在に興味津々になっていく杉本の心理が、生瀬さんの豊かな表情でよく伝わってきました。余談ですが、杉本と部下の与田とのやりとりは、このドラマを通じて楽しみの一つでした。この2人の軽口のたたき合いに、毎回、嬉しいおまけのような喜びを感じていました。
Before big eyes any secret can’t be hidden, I guess. Sugimoto’s main goal was originally to investigate insurance but he becomes curious about Yoshio in spite of himself and we can tell his mental state or emotion from Namase’s expressive face. I’d like to say in passing that the conversation that Sugimoto and Yoda have in this drama was a great delight for me. I enjoyed their cracking jokes every time so I felt it was like an added prize.
