この長い物語を観続けさせる原動力の一つが、魅力的な登場人物たちだと思います。 自分が最も惹かれたのは、ティリオン・ラニスター（ピーター・ディンクレイジ）です。「小鬼」とあだ名される子どものような体格ながら、持ち前の機転と度胸で、したたかに世を渡っていく人物です。
One of the reasons that I kept on watching this long drama was the characters who appeared in it are so attractive. The character who was attractive to me the most was Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage). He is sometimes called an “imp” because of his build like a child, but he stubbornly survives tough situations with his wits and guts.

He was born a Lannister, and House Lannister is the very family who brings misery to House Stark whose members are the main characters of this drama. Although Tyrion was born into such a powerful family, he spent his early years in obscurity. That’s because his mother died when he was born so he has been neglected and held in contempt by his father. Cersei Lannister, Tyrion’s sister, also hates him and the only person who is on his side was Jaime, his brother, alone.
そんな彼が、したたかに、ときには相手を手玉に取るようにして生きていく様は痛快です。しかも、苦労人ゆえか、人情の機微に敏く、心やさしい性格で、自然と味方が増えていくのも面白いところです。最終章に見る、ティリオンの落ち着き先も、彼の生き方からして納得できるところです。
It is exhilarating to see such a guy live toughly manipulating people. It is also fun to see him winning some people over to his side because he somehow understands the subtleties of human feeling and is sympathetic. I was somehow convinced when I knew what became of him in the last season.
