ゴケミドロ、です。このざわつく語感はなんでしょう。しかも「吸血鬼ゴケミドロ」です。タイトルに衝撃をうけたまま、アマゾンプライムビデオで鑑賞しました。
How uneasy this word Gokemidoro is! Plus, it’s not just a Gokemidoro, It’s a ‘Vampire Gokemidoro’. Amazed by this title, I watched this movie on Amazon Prime Video.

怪しげな赤い空を小型旅客機が飛んでいます。乗客らが談笑している客室の窓に突然、鳥が血しぶきをあげて激突します。同じ頃操縦室には、管制塔から衝撃の連絡が入ります。それは、同機に爆弾の入ったバッグが積み込まれた疑いがあり、羽田へと戻ることを命じるものでした。副機長の杉坂（吉田輝雄）は、乗客のバッグを点検しますが見つかりません。しかし、スチュワーデスの朝倉（佐藤友美）がパントリーで発見したスーツケースにはライフルが入っていたのでした。これは、乗客に紛れ込んでいたプロの殺し屋、寺岡（高英男）のものであり、発見されたことを悟った寺岡は、杉坂らに銃を突き付け、沖縄に向かうよう脅します。その時、同機は謎の飛行物体に遭遇し、操縦不能となって墜落してしまうのでした。奇跡的に一命をとりとめた杉坂と朝倉、そして数名の乗客らでしたが、殺し屋の寺岡も生き残ります。結局はこの寺岡という殺し屋が、謎の生命体ゴケミドロに体を乗っ取られ、吸血鬼ゴケミドロとなってしまうのでした……。
A small passenger plane is flying in the mysteriously red sky. The passengers are chatting, when suddenly a bird crashes into a window of the plane sending its own blood flying. At about the same time, the pilots in the cockpit receives a disturbing message from the control center. It says that there is a possibility that the plane is carrying a bag which contains a time bomb so the plane must return to Haneda Airport. Co-pilot Sugisaka checks the passengers’ bags but there is no bomb. However, Stewardess Asakura finds a suitcase in the pantry and there is a rifle in it. The owner of the bag is Teraoka, a professional hit man, and as soon as he sees what is happening he aims a gun at Sugisaka and Asakura ordering them to take the plane to Okinawa. In that instant, the plane comes across a UFO and went down in the mountains after suddenly going out of control. Several people including Sugisaka and Asakura miraculously survive and so does the hit man Teraoka. Teraoka ends up becoming a Vampire Gokemidoro after the mysterious creature Gokemidoro took over his body.
終始笑顔で鑑賞しました。奇抜な設定や突飛な展開にしばしば吹き出しもしました。でも、松竹による怪奇特撮映画第一弾というこの作品は、今から50年前にできる精一杯の技術を駆使したものに違いありません。アメーバ状のゴケミドロが寺岡の体内に入るシーンは、もし自分が子どもだったらトラウマ決定と言いたいほどに衝撃的です。ぱっくりと額が割られ、そこにゴケミドロがするすると入っていくのです。また、人物の性格付けも興味深く、乗客の中には次期総理大臣候補の政治家、それにおもねる武器商人、時限爆弾を持ち込んだ自殺志願者、そしてベトナム戦争で夫を亡くした米国人女性などがいて、それぞれの思惑が物語の展開を一筋縄ではいかないものにしていきます。ただの娯楽映画かと思いきや、反戦の意思もところどころに感じます。
I was smiling from beginning to end. I sometimes even burst out laughing. However, this is the first Gothic SF Movie by Shochiku Production and they did their best using the state-of-the-art special effects fifty years ago. The scene where the Gokemidoro invades Teraoka’s body was so shocking that I might have suffered trauma if I were a young boy. Teraoka’s forehead is split wide open and the Gokemidoro, an ameba-like blob, invades his body smoothly. Plus, the characters were varied and characterized so interestingly, for example, a politician who is the most likely candidate to be the next prime minister, an arms merchant who curries favor with the politician, a would-be suicide who brought a time bomb onto the plane, a widow who lost her husband in the Vietnam War, and so on, and the fact that every one of them has different motives makes the plot of this story complicated. I thought it was just entertainment but I felt the message of the movie was pacifism for war.
クエンティン・タランティーノはこの映画のファンだそうです。何かしらワクワクできるものがあることは事実です。60年代の日本映画をもっと観たくてウズウズしています。
It seems like Quentin Tarantino is a fan of this movie. There is something exhilarating about this movie for sure. I’m now itching to watch more Japanese movies released in the 60's.
