Flipper's Guitar - いとこの来る日曜日 (Hello)
フリッパーズ・ギターと聞くと，懐かしい人は多いと思います。活動期間は1987年から1991年の４年間。出したアルバムはたった３枚だったにも関わらず，その後に与えた影響は計り知れないバンドです。多くのファンはそのときに聴きすぎて腹いっぱいに違いないですが，それでも，この時期にふと耳にすると，いまだにワクワクしてしまう曲がいくつかあります。まず，心に浮かぶのは，１stアルバム「海へ行くつもりじゃなかった」の１曲目「Hello-いとこの来る日曜日」です。初夏の明るい朝にピッタリな曲です。
I believe the name of a band called Flipper's Guitar reminds many people of old good days. The period when they were active was only four years. Even though they released only three albums during the time, the influence of their music upon future generations was inscrutable. Many fans of the band should have already listened to their songs to the full, even so I’m still exhilarated when I hear some their songs to be played. A song which comes into my mind first is “Hello- on the Sunday when my cousin is coming” which is the 1st song in their 1st album titled “I was not going to the ocean”. This song sounds really good particularly in early summer.
アンニュイで気だるいイントロに聴き手がいぶかしんだところで，まぶしい，粒のはっきりしたギターのリフでいきなり盛り上がり，日曜日の朝へとあっという間に連れて行かれます。まさにネオ・アコ，とやかましく言いたくなるその音は，ネオ・アコの先駆者アズテック・カメラに劣らぬ，衝撃の爽やかさです。小山田圭吾さん，小沢健二さんの底知れない才能にワクワクしてしまいます。
個人的には，３rdシングルの「カメラ！カメラ！カメラ！」も今の季節に最高です。
The introduction of the song sounds so ennui that it makes you feel a whit uneasy, then a clear guitar riff suddenly comes to take you to a Sunday morning in a blink. The sound of this song makes you feel like speaking out loud “This is the song which deserves to be neo-acoustic” and it is so amazingly refreshing that you think it could be comparable with Aztec Camera who is a pioneer in the field. I’m always exhilarated with the incredible talents of Oyamada Keigo and Ozawa Kenji.
The third single “Camera! Camera! Camera!” is also good to listen to in this season.
