勝手に奇跡の曲：ヤバいTシャツ屋さん「ネコ飼いたい」 A miracle song, just for me though: “Neko Kaitai” by Yabai Tshirts Ya San

　この夏、子猫を飼い始めました。特にきっかけがあったわけではないですが、飼うことになりました。ネットで調べてみると、ちょうど保健所に一匹、子猫が保護されているというので連絡をとって確認しました。3兄弟だったのが、2匹は引き取られて、一匹だけ淋しく残っているとのこと。勝手に運命を感じて、ひとまず見に行くことにしました。

　I’ve had a cat since this summer. There was no particular reasons to have it, but I ended up having it. I checked on the internet and found an article that said there was a cat in the local public health center, so I call them to confirm it. I heard it had two brothers, but they were taken in by someone and he was left there alone. I somehow felt it was my destiny to have it, so I set off on my car to see it.  

　車に乗ってエンジンをかけたときに、ますます運命を感じる出来事がありました。最初にかかった曲がヤバＴの「ネコ飼いたい」だったのです。ＵＳＢには千曲ぐらい入れていて、それをランダムで聴いているのですが、この曲がかかるのは本当に久しぶりでした。

　It was when I started the engine that something fateful happened to me. The first song that was played on the car audio player was “Neko Kaitai” by YabaT. I put almost one thousand songs in a USB memory drive and listen to them randomly. It’s been a long time since I heard the song last time.

　まだ2か月のちっちゃい、茶トラの子猫でした。保健所の小屋に入ると、ケージから出された子猫が、自分にしがみついてきました。迷いなどありませんでした。お世話についてのレクチャーを受けて、すぐに連れ帰りました。

　もともと出不精でしたが、ほぼ引きこもりになっています。猫の名前はオチャです。

　It was a small, brown and white, two months old kitten. They show me into a shed beside the building of the health center. The kitten, who was taken out of the cage, desperately clung to me. I had no hesitation. I heard a brief explanation about how to take care of him and went home soon.

　I am by nature a stay-at-home, and now I almost go into seclusion except going to work. His name is Ocha. 

　もともと大好きだったヤバＴですが、今や自分にとって、神がかったバンドです。新曲、「癒着ナイト」も発売日にＣＤを購入して聴いていました。めちゃくちゃ勢いがあって、可笑しみも、ノリの良さもやっぱり最高です。

　I’ve loved YabaT for a long time, but now they are something divinely special. I’ve been listening to their new single CD “Yuchaku Night” which I bought on the date of sale. That song is also energetic and extremely funny, so I’m carried away by it.

ガールズ競輪の魅力：伸びしろ十分なスポーツ The Attractiveness of Girl’s Keirin: A Sport with Great Potential

　新しい世界にふれてワクワクしています。

　友人の娘が競輪学校を卒業し、選手としてデビューしました。7月に伊東競輪場であった彼女の初レースをYou Tubeでチェックして、俄然ワクワクしました。

　I’m excited at the new world I’ve never known.

　My friend’s daughter graduated the Keirin school and debuted as a bicycle racer. I was exhilarated when I watched her debut race at Ito bicycle racing stadium in July on the internet.

　8月の川崎でのレースは、会場で応援しました。傾斜のついたバンクになっている競輪場は、真横から見ても、レースの様子がわかりやすいように感じます。川崎競輪場の周長は400ｍ。1レースは1600ｍですから、4周回ることになります。

　In August, I was at Kawasaki racing stadium to cheer for her. I have an impression that the bicycle race is easy to watch even from the ground level due to the steep bank of the racetrack. The length of the track in Kawasaki stadium is 400 meters. They run 1600 meters long in one race so they go round the track 4 times.

　近くで見るとすごい迫力でした。男子で時速70ｋｍ、女子でも時速60ｋｍ近くは出るというのですから、スリル満点です。7人の選手で競うのですが、ユニフォームの色が車番ごとに決まっているため、レース展開はとてもわかりやすくなっています。スタートラインで、インコースの1番から順に白、黒、赤、青、黄、緑、オレンジと並びます。先頭員と呼ばれる、レースの先導車が後方からやってきてスタートラインに到達した瞬間に号砲が鳴り、各車が動き出します。選手たちは先頭車を抜いてはいけませんが、その間、位置取りの駆け引きをしています。残り1周半になったときに先頭員が退避して、いよいよ全力勝負が始まります。着順は前輪の先端で判定されるそうです。

　I was almost overwhelmed when I watched the race from the fence close to the track. it is said that male racers can go at the maximum speed of 70 kph, and the maximum speed of female racers sometimes reaches 60kph, so the races could be quite exciting. Seven racers compete at a race, and they wear colored uniforms, and each color has a number so that people can easily recognize each racer. At the starting line, the white is on the inside lane, then the black, the red, the blue, the yellow, the green, and the orange. The leading bicycle comes from behind and the instant when it reaches the starting line, the signal gun is fired and every racer starts. Racers are not supposed to overtake the leading bicycle, but they are trying to get better positions during that time. The leading bicycle withdraws with one and a half laps to go, then the real race begins. The order of arrival is decided with the front of the front wheel.

　ガールズ競輪がプロスポーツとして始まったのは2012年とのこと。まだまだ新しく、人気も選手の実力も伸びしろ十分で、これからが楽しみなスポーツです。ロンドン五輪からは、オリンピックでも正式種目になっています。

　友人の娘は、高木佑真選手です。今のところ、先行逃げ切りにこだわった、潔いレース展開が持ち味です。次の出場レース、9月9日の岐阜競輪場が楽しみです。

　Professional Girl’s Keirin has started in 2012. It is still in the early stages and has great potential in popularity or skills of racers. Girl’s Keirin has been an Olympic official event since the London Olympic Games.

　The racer who is my friend’s daughter is Takaki Yuma. She is always trying to boldly lead all the way for now. She will ride a race in Gifu racing stadium on September 9 and I can’t wait to watch it.

合いの手が楽しい曲：私立恵比寿中学「明日もきっと７０点」 A song full of joyful interjections: “Ashita mo Kitto 70ten”by Shiritsu Ebisu Chugaku

　バーチャルYouTuberという存在を知ったのは、この曲のおかげでした。エビ中のアルバム「MUSiC」の３曲目、「明日もきっと70点feat.東雲めぐ」は、賑やかな合いの手が楽しくて、いちいち喜んでしまいます。この合いの手を入れているのが、昨年の3月にデビューしたバーチャルYouTuber、「東雲めぐ」です。東雲めぐとは、You Tube配信の３DCGアニメのメインキャラクターだそうです。

　It was through this song that I knew virtual You Tuber. “Ashita mo Kitto 70ten”, the third track of Ebichu’s album called “MUSiC” is so delightful because it has many joyful interjections and I’m pleased with each of them. The one who throws those interjections in this song is “Shinonome Megu”, a virtual You Tuber who debuted last March. Shinonome Megu is a main character of 3DCG anime on You Tube.

　合いの手の楽しさで言えば、4^thアルバムの「コミックガール」も相当なものですが、こちらも負けていません。こうした賑やかさがエビ中のよさだと勝手に思っています。

　“Comic Girl”, a song which is contained in their 4^th album, is also full of joyful interjection, and this song, “Ashita mo Kitto 70ten”, is as good as that song. This kind of merriment is, in my opinion, a good point of Ebichu.

　嬉しいことに秋ツアー福岡公演のチケットが取れました。エビ中初登校が待ちきれません。

　To my great joy, I got a ticket for their autumn tour in Fukuoka. I can’t wait to go to the concert, because it’s my first time to go to their concert.

可笑しいけどなんかいい曲：MONKEY MAJIK×岡崎体育「留学生」 Funny but Good Songs: “Ryugakusei” by MONKEY MAJIK feat. Taiiku Okazaki

 　岡崎体育さんの「MUSIC VIDEO」で笑顔になった人は多いと思います。あのあるあるな歌詞は、衝撃の面白さでした。この「MUSIC VIDEO」が収録されたアルバム、「BASIN TECHNO」を聴くと、面白いだけではすまない、ミュージシャンとしての無限の才能を感じてさらに驚きました。

　I’m sure that many people can’t help smiling when they heard the song called “MUSIC VIDEO” by Okazaki Taiiku. The lyrics that describe something typical in music video was amazingly funny. The album called “BASIN TECHNO”, which contains “MUSIC VIDEO”, is not only funny but something that conveys his infinite talent as a musician.

　その後、「XXL」、「SAITAMA」といった自身のアルバムを出しながら、アニメソングや他のミュージシャンへの楽曲提供などを手掛けられています。このブログでもエビ中の「Family Complex」について、その素晴らしさを書き立てました。そして、この曲が出されたのと同じ時期、今年の3月には、MONKEY MAGICとのコラボで、面白びっくりなビデオが公開されています。

　From then on, he has released such albums as “XXL”, “SAITAMA”, and he also has written some songs for anime or other musicians. I wrote about how good Ebichu’s “Family Complex”is in this blog before. It was in March, when “Family Complex” was also released, that MONKEY MAGIC and he collaborated in releasing a video which is amazingly funny.  

　空耳ソング好きにはたまらない一曲です。ビデオでのダンスは岡崎体育さん自身による振り付けとのこと。この「留学生」という曲は、MONKEY MAGICのアルバム「COLLABORATED」に収録されています。

　先日は、ドラマ「これは経費で落ちません！」にも出演されていた岡崎体育さん、演技の方もお見事でした。

　This is a kind of song that attracts some people who love “hilariously mishearing songs”. He even did the arrangement of the dance. This song “Ryugakusei” is contained in MONKEY MAGIC’s album called “COLLABORATED”.

　I saw him appear in a TV drama called “Kore wa Keihi de Otimasen” the other day. I was impressed by his performance as an actor, too.

大好きだったあの世界は今：岩館真理子の世界⑬「キララのキ」 Where is the world I loved before?: “Kirara no Ki” by Mariko Iwadate

　ホラーの要素も入ったサスペンスです。

　This is a suspense with a touch of the horror story.

　キララとは、一体何者なのか。一見、活発なこのキララという女の子は、その実在すら疑わしい人物です。しかし、主人公の十秋には、小学校の同級生に、キララがいたという記憶が確かにあるのでした。

　Who is Kirara? The existence of this girl called Kirara, who looks energetic at first sight, is doubtful. However, Toaki, the main character, surely remembers that Kirara was in her class in the elementary school.  

　十秋の記憶では、キララは森の奥の大きな洋館に住んでいました。いつも母の話ばかりしているキララでしたが、十秋が訪れたその家には、母親の気配すらありません。キララの家は、不思議な人形にあふれていました。それらのいくつかは、どうやらキララと会話さえしており、十秋に出すお菓子に毒を盛るという不穏な会話さえ聞こえたのでした。やがて十秋は一体の人形に惹きつけられます。その人形の顔は、父親が写真で見せてくれた母にうり二つだったのです。しかし、キララは、その人形はキララの母親に似せて作ったものだと言い張ります。人形をめぐり、十秋とキララは激しく口論します。その挙句、十秋が窓から投げ捨てた人形は、木にひっかかり、それをとろうとしたキララは樹上から落下してしまったのですが……。

　In Toaki’s memory Kirara lived in a big, western style building deep in the forest. Kirara was always talking about her mother, but Toaki didn’t see her at all when she visited their house. Kilala’s house was full of weird dolls. Some of them even had conversation with Kirara, and Toaki heard that they were going to put poison in her cakes. Toaki was soon attracted by a doll. The face of the doll looked very much like her mother’s in a photo that her father had shown her before. However, Kirara insisted that the doll was made to look like her own mother. Toaki and Kirara quarreled over the doll. Toaki ended up throwing the doll out of a window and the doll fell on a tall tree, then Kirara tried to take it but failed and she fell from the tree…….  

　高校生になった十秋の前に、死んだはずのキララが、再び姿を現します。そのことをきっかけに、十秋自身の出生にも秘密があることがわかり、キララと十秋の関係が次第に明らかになっていきます。

　Kirara shows up in front of Toaki, who is now a high school girl, even though she is supposed to be dead. This consequently reveals that there is a secret about Toaki’s birth and the relationship between Kirara and Toaki is gradually brought to light.  

　この作品から、岩館さんの画風が変化し始めるように思います。幼い子どもの顔はこれまでとあまり変わりませんが、少女の目や面立ちに柔らかさが薄れています。大人の描写に至っては、写実性が増し、美しさよりも醜さの方が際立つ描き方のように思えます。

　少女漫画の枠を超えた、大人の読み物といえる作品です。

　I have an impression that Iwadate’s drawing style began to change from this work. The faces of young children are almost the same as before, but the eyes and the faces of girls become cool. The description of the adults even become realistic and ugliness is more conspicuous than beauty.

　This is a work for adults rather than children.

仏蘭西屋の美味しいカクテル：「シンガポール・スリング」 Good Cocktails in My Favorite Bar: “Singapore Sling”

（2020年7月現在、残念なことに仏蘭西屋は閉店しています）

　7月末まで、職場にシンガポールの女性が来られていました。英語を母語とされていましたが、日本語も大変流暢でした。自分のスキルアップのために、必要もないのに英語で話しかけまくっていましたが、笑顔で相手してくれて、とても勉強になりました。

　A woman from Singapore had been working with us in my office until the end of July. Her native language is English, and she speaks Japanese quite fluently. I always spoke to her unnecessarily in English just to improve my English skills. She always wore a pleasant smile and willingly had a conversation with me, so I learned a lot from her.

　送別会として同僚数名で、焼肉を食べに行き、最後は仏蘭西屋に案内しました。自分がここぞとばかり頼んだのは「シンガポール・スリング」。知名度抜群のカクテルですが、これまで飲んだ覚えがありませんでした。

　Several coworkers and I had a farewell party for her at a barbecue restaurant and then went to France-Ya. The cocktail I decisively ordered this time was “Singapore Sling”. I’ve somehow never had this cocktail before, even though it’s a really well-known cocktail.

　シンガポールの素晴らしい夕焼けをイメージして作られたというこのカクテルは、ジンをベースに、チェリー・ブランデー、レモンジュース、砂糖をシェイクし、ソーダ水を加えたものです。お酒が苦手な彼女はこの日もソフトドリンクを飲んでいましたが、念のため、本場、ラッフルズ・ホテルのシンガポール・スリングについて尋ねてみました。やっぱり、飲んだことがないとのことでした。

　 I heard that this cocktail was created to give the impression of the beautiful sunset in Singapore, and was made from gin, cherry brandy, lemon juice and sugar, after shaking these ingredients soda is added. She doesn’t like alcohol so she had soft drinks on that day, too. I asked her about Raffles Hotel’s Singapore Sling without expectation and, sure enough, she hadn’t had this cocktail at the hotel.  

　以前、彼女がシンガポールに休暇で帰省したときに、お土産にくれたものがあります。カヤジャムです。ココナッツミルクと卵を原料とするこのジャムは、思ったより甘すぎず、トーストに塗って食べるととても美味しくて、シンガポールでは朝食の定番だそうです。

　She gave me a souvenir from Singapore when she came back from her holiday homecoming before. It was kaya, a kind of coconut jam. Kaya is made from coconut milk and eggs, and it is not sweet too much. In Singapore, Kaya is typically spread on toast and eaten especially in the morning almost everyday.

　ジャニーズのアイドルと、日本のアニメが大好きな彼女でした。またいつか、日本に来る日を楽しみにしています。

　She loves some idol groups from the agency called Johnny & Associates, and Japanese animation movies, too. I hope she will visit Japan again sometime in the future.

NHKやっぱりがんばってる！：ドラマ「だから私は推しました」 Sure Enough, NHK Is Doing a Good Job!: The TV Drama, “Dakara Watashi wa Oshimashita”

　今クールのドラマでもう一つ、推したいものがあります。またNHKです。毎週土曜、夜11時30分放送の「だから私は推しました」です。

　There is one more drama I want to recommend in this season. It is a drama by NHK, again. The drama is “Dakara Watashi wa Oshimashita”, at 11:30 p.m. every Saturday night.

　「リア充に見られたいアラサーOLの遠藤愛（桜井ユキ）は、友人の中でちょっとした見栄を張る日々を送っていたが、結婚を意識していた彼氏からその姿がみっともないとフラれてしまう。失意の中スマホを落とした愛が拾い主（細田善彦）を訪ねてあるライブハウスへ向かうと、オタクたちの異様な熱気の中、地下アイドルのライブが行われていた。愛はその中で歌もダンスも下手な栗本ハナ（白石聖）を見つけ、そのみっともなさに自分を重ねる。」

　始めはドルヲタをバカにしていた愛でしたが、やがて彼らが感心するほどに、ハナに対する見事な推しっぷりを見せるようになるのでした。

　“Ai Endo (Yuki Sakurai) is a female office worker in her late 20s. She wants to look happy enough in her real life, so she always tries to show off in her small circle of friends. It is embarrassing for her boyfriend to see her behaving like that, so he dumps her even though she was going to marry him. Being disappointed, she loses her smartphone and a guy picks it up, so she goes to a live house because he is there. What she sees there is an underground Idol group and their enthusiastic fans. Ai finds a member named Hana Kurimoto, who is not good at singing and dancing, having something in common with her. “

　At first, she looks down on the idol geeks around her but, in the end, she becomes an enthusiastic fan of Hana to such an extent that the geeks are impressed by her.

　このドラマはサスペンス仕立てになっています。主人公の愛は現在、警察で取り調べを受けていて、彼女の回想として、ドラマは綴られていくのです。一体、彼女が起こした事件とは何か、視聴者の興味は高まります。しかし、このドラマの魅力はそれだけではありません。自分が好きなものを「推す」とはどういうことなのか、そこで示唆される価値観に、何かしら共感するものを感じます。そして何より、このドラマに登場する地下アイドル、サニーサイド・アップの皆さんがとても魅力的で、推す気満々にさせてくれるのです。

　This drama is a kind of suspense. The story is told as her memories while she is under investigation in a /police station. The audience are keen to know what she has done. However, this is not the only reason why this drama attracts us. You can see something you can empathize there because it explains about what a person become an enthusiastic fan of someone is like. Plus, the best thing in this drama for me is that the members of Sunny Side Up, the idol group which appears in this drama, are quite attractive so I’d like to recommend this drama.

　超期間限定ユニットとして、ドラマ外でも、このアイドルグループは現在、実際に活動しているとのこと。サニサイという略称も、思わず口にしたくなります。

　This Idol group is now active for a limited period even out of this drama. Sunni-Sai, the abbreviation of the group’s name, sounds so good that I feel like uttering it.
